قصة سمك Fish Story — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

The waiter suggested some additional dishes confusing the customers to get extra ones. He tried with me after I order a main dish with a soup until I clearly asked if is additional or included. He tried also with my husband, and at the end he brought a lobster we didn't order. We had to pay extra 195 AED for that dish... After mentioning it to the waiter, he didn't offer to take it back, justifying that he mentioned is an additional dish. I'm pretty sure that he did that on purpose since this is a strategy followed by many waiters in other places. After seeing our faces and complaint, he kindly includes a dessert and two teas, but the dinner was ruined already.

Learn this, customers want to eat what they order, not extra, especially when you are the expert in the place and you are seeing that the customers ordered enough dishes for them. We were only two and we ordered four dishes, plus the extra... As we are polite and we don't want to cause any trouble in front of other customers or even his manager, we accepted. However, this is absolutely against the confort of the customer and not a good cross selling strategy.

Regarding the food, it was average - not recommended. Appetisers were burnt a bit, "extra crunchy" and also oily. They cook all with butter, soup, appetisers, fish... so that kills the taste of any fish, plus adding additional spices. I know is something common here in the UAE, but not healthy at all. Fish and seafood were too cooked that even with butter cooking and seasonings, it were dry. We felt our digestion too heavy. We will not repeat.

Last, vibes are nice in the restaurant, but music was too loud...

If i can give them 0 i would’ve done it. At first everything was alright until we requested for the bill. They told us to get the bill you have to give a review, in which we let it pass. But then he came back telling us why you didn’t give a full review and we explained why ( you can’t force people to give you a full review) but he kept on harassing us and wanted to call us out by name of who reviewed low?!!! Is this how you thrive as a restaurant, by scamming people you have good reviews but then when they try you food and it turns out Okay?!! Wouldn’t you feel better when people review honestly and you truly listen to people and try to improve?!!

Our night was ruined by your harassment, we started to feel scared.. is this what you stand for? Scaring people to give you a good review?!

A good restaurant wouldn’t beg for good reviews, it will want an honest review because then they will understand how to enhance the experience, and you truly failed to accomplish that.
