Mr. Kimchi (BON GA) — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

So I have been told by my bestfriend that this place has amazing Korean Food, with actual Korean family managing thr business, so we decided to try it out to have a good time. Sadly, and unfortunately, management has changed, and restaurant name has changed to Kimchi, and family was not there. We are greeted with an authentic Korean ambience where we would feel as if we're getting a good experience.

So we ordered food, we asked the waitress if the chef is still the same as before, and she said yes. However, the food served was not as authentic as it seemed to be. The bok galbi is very salty and oily, kimchi and radish are very bland, the dumpling size was so small and super crusty as if it came from a frozen package (no meat option either), the only thing that was good is the korean pancake.

Also ordered iced coffee as to which it seemed like a 3 in 1 that was placed with ice, and was served 2.5/4 of the cup. (Had to get it replaced with a stronger coffee, ending up the same taste as the first one T.T)

Coming from a place where I am enthusiastic with asian food, this was a bit disappointing. It is okay overall if it is a first time, but there is just so much more in the details that you would notice if you really want that...

We ordered tons of stuff and everything was really good. They have open kitchen concept and you can see what they are preparing while sitting at the table.

Price is little on high side, but it's for a reason. You are well compensated by yummy food with good quantity.

I was living in Singapore for many years and one of my favorite items to eat was Bibimbap. After moving to UAE we tried many Korean restaurants and none of them were as authentic. Until today! Fell in love with Bibimbap here.

We will definitely be coming back here soon when we need our next Korean fix.

I lived in South Korea for 4 years and I know everything and more about their cuisine. This is one of the best places in Abu Dhabi to try Korean food: the atmosphere, the taste and size of the dishes, the variation of the menu is pretty close to the original. Of course, most of the dishes are adapted to the tastes of the local population (in Korea much spicier) A lot of appetizers are served, as it is supposed to be.
