Sanderson's is one of those rare places where everything is perfect, from the venue to the food, service, ambiance and pricing. It seems to work like a piece of well oiled machinery.
Tucked away behind Al Seef Mall in The Walk at Al Seef Sanderson's has a charming, airy and bright tropical ambiance with cheerful staff wearing Hawaiian shirts greeting you and showing you to your table.
They have a great outdoor area with kids play area as well that's a huge hit in cooler weather, and inside they have a variety of different seating options, so you can choose what works best for you.
The menu is compact but has something for everyone with all day breakfast options, salads, steaks and Desserts to die for.
We settle down and place our orders with Jovie who's the manager, great lady always smiling.
The drinks were a selection of their summer mocktails, which were really amazing.
I had the Steak with chips medium rare, and it was done to perfection and the portion size was just right.
The wife tried the pulled beef sandwich and loved it, I must say I had a bite, and it was awesome.
The boys had one of the specials which was a salmon and mozzarella omelet and a pasta and loved it.
Now when you go to Sanderson's you have to try their desserts. They are absolutely amazing and could be a meal by themselves.
We had the Pavlova which was divine, a perfect balance of sweet and tart with a crunch from the merengue, this and the steak were the absolute highlights of the day.
We also had the Tiramisu and their classic cheesecake, and both were absolutely on point.
It's very rarely you find a place where everything comes together to give you an absolutely amazing dining experience, and Sanderson's does it all the time.
A true hidden gem of Abu Dhabi worth of a Michelin Star or two, great job...
Read moreI was really looking forward to trying Sanderson’s. I grew up in Abu Dhabi constantly wishing a place like Common Grounds or Tom & Serg would open. I have always made an effort to drive to Tom & Serg on Friday mornings for breakfast because the food was just so amazing.
I’m so sorry to say that I can’t say the same for Sanderson’s. I went today (Saturday, Dec. 2nd) for breakfast and was utterly disappointed.
I’ll start with the positives: Beautiful decor and ambience. The music has been chosen tastefully and really gives off a lovely vibe. The staff are really attentive and caring.
Now for the negatives:
We ordered 2 of the chef’s specials and one item on the regular menu.
Mushroom and cheese omelette: this had absolutely no taste and was soggy. It looked unappetizing when I cut it open. I saw the mushrooms but could not taste any cheese. The toast under the omelette was ruined because of the sogginess. I have actually never had a worse omelette than the one I had today. The salad that came with the dish was decent (the dressing actually provided some flavor)
Shakshouka Pide: the bread was fresh, but the shakshouka itself was very bland. I didn’t taste anything other than the spiced chickpeas. For such a unique dish, it’s a shame that it lacked flavor.
The pineapple bowl: again, another case of no flavor. The ingredients were either not fresh, or a bunch of frozen fruits with no flavor were blended with lots of ice. I couldn’t taste the sweetness that you get with a fruit. The biscuits with the bowl were tasty though.
I hope the attention that is put into the food is improved in the future. Too bad that the quality from Dubai’s restaurants were not brought...
Read moreMy recent breakfast visit to Sanderson's in the picturesque Al Seef Resort was a delightful experience. This café is a gem in Abu Dhabi, boasting a location and ambiance that are simply enchanting.
The moment you step into Sanderson's, you're greeted by an incredibly inviting decor. The café has a unique charm, blending a modern aesthetic with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail in the decor is impressive, creating a perfect backdrop for a relaxed breakfast.
The location of Sanderson's adds to its appeal. Nestled in the serene surroundings of Al Seef Resort, it offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city life. The outdoor seating area is especially lovely, allowing guests to enjoy their meal amidst the beautiful, peaceful settings of the resort.
As for the food, it was satisfactory. The menu offers a decent range of breakfast options, catering to different tastes. While the dishes were well-presented and the ingredients seemed fresh, I felt that the flavors could be more distinctive. There's potential for the culinary experience to match the high standards set by the café's ambiance and location.
In summary, Sanderson's is a wonderful spot for breakfast in Abu Dhabi, especially if you're looking for a place with great ambiance and a beautiful setting. The food is decent, and with a little enhancement in flavor profiles, this café could easily become a five-star experience. I will definitely return, if not for the food, then for the delightful...
