If you ever find yourself shopping in Deerfields Mall and wander into India Palace, congratulations, you’re about to embark on an epic taste adventure. I walked in thinking I’d have a nice Indian meal and ended up booking a one way ticket to Flavor Town, population me.

The chaat was crisp, tangy, and delightfully mischievous in all the right ways. I may have done a little happy dance when the first mouthful hit. The chicken and mutton curries didn’t ask politely, they marched straight in and declared themselves permanent residents on my taste buds.

And the biryani… oh the biryani. If biryani were a blockbuster movie, this one would win Best Picture, Best Spice, Best Supporting Saffron, and definitely Best Ending, because when it was gone I actually felt emotional.

The value for money was amazing. I left feeling like I’d had the royal treatment without having to pay royal prices. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the whole experience just felt special.

If you go, leave space for dessert, say hi to the lovely servers, and make sure you order something with biryani in the name. Your future self will be proud of you.

I’ve been a regular customer at Indian Palace and always enjoyed the food, but today was a huge disappointment. I came with my family and the service was unacceptable. We waited for about an hour with no food. I pressed the service bell several times and was ignored, even though staff were clearly standing there. Families who came after us received their orders and left, while we were still waiting. It took 40 minutes just to get appetizers, and even then, when I asked about our order, I wasn’t asking for appetizers — I was asking when our actual food would arrive. The food may be good, but the way we were treated today was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.
