On our trip to Ajman, we had a sudden crave for Desi Food and some Desi Biryani.
On searching and driving around, we discovered this restaurant and I can strongly say, this is a Hidden Gem.
The place is cosy and every corner and inch of the restaurant is detailed and well thought about by the owner himself. The windows and partitions are windows of an old Masjid in Lahore, which by itself brings a vintage feel to this place.
The interiors are colorful, yet very classy.
The staff here is friendly and always attentive to serve you.
Now coming to the main part, for which we all are here is the FOOD
We ordered the following: Royal chicken Kabab / Chicken Seekh Kabab / Chicken Cheese Kabab / Mutton Seekh Kabab / Cheese Roti / Lahori Kadai / Chicken Biryani / Gulab jamun / Saudi Halal Chamapagne / Chicken Tandoori
Royal Chicken Kabab – 4/5 – My family like this kabab item, as the chicken is mixed with capsicums, and grilled well, making sure the chicken is cooked well and the capsicums do not lose their crispiness or juiciness, is in itself a great way of making it to the dining table.
Chicken Seekh Kabab – 5/5 – The chicken was so juicy and tender and cooked to perfection. The spices used in this to marinate it was well done
Chicken Cheese Kabab – 7 / 5 – This is a highlight of this place and would say that when you visit the, you have to try this, as unlike other places where the cheese is either put in excess or very little, this place had its proportions in perfect blend, and we know this is because we have been to this place about 3 times, after our first visit
Mutton Seekh Kabab – 5/5 – This is also a good choice to order, as the meat is tender and juicy and cooked well.
Chicken Tandoori – 4/5 – This I would is just alright, as the other grilled items over shadow this. Maybe it could have had been grilled a bit more.
Cheese Roti – 7/5 – This is another highlight of the restaurant menu, and if you are a Cheese Manakish lover, and would love to have a Desi twist to it, this is your item to order, as you need to mention it to the staff to serve it with a desi twist (Its with chilli and capsicums…YUMMY)
Lahori Kadai – 5/5 – This is also something that you have to try from this place, as the curry is so full of its spices and yet so creamy and indulging.
Chicken Biryani – 7/5 – This is another highlight of the menu and I can truly say that this is #thebestbiryaniintown when it comes to AJMAN. The rice itself has a very nice and aromatic fragrance to it, which is rightly paired with chicken and other masalas to tingle your taste buds, and no matter how full you are, you cant resist this.
Gulab jamun – 5/5 – Iunlike other places, where you either would find baby Gulab Jamuns or maybe over cooked or overtly sweet Gulab Jamuns, this place has not so sweet Gulab Jamuns, and this would tick all the boxes for me and my guests, who also agreed.
Saudi Halal Chamapagne – 5/5 – If you want a halal way of feeling refreshed this is the perfect way to wash it all down.
CHAI – 7/5 – If you are a chai lover and need to wash it away or end your meal with a perfectly cooked chai, on coal … this is your drink. The masala used in this is not overpowering, but you lightly feel them, which makes you relaxed and refreshed at the same time.

Read moreA new Pakistani restaurant in Ajman. We were invited for a bloggers meet by Hyperlinks Media and that sorted our lunch plans for the weekend.
A cozy atmosphere with dim lighting and pops of dark hues with their couches and dining chairs. They have separate cabins for families to dine in privacy.
Bite Board
We started off with Saudi Champagne which was a blend of apple, lemon, mint leaves and sparkling water. We tried it for the first time and loved how refreshing it was.
Chicken Cheese Kebab [AED 36]: A combination that is loved by all, best of both worlds if you say so. The kebabs were perfectly prepared and were succulent, it just required the consistency with the cheese.
Royal Chicken Kebab [AED 36]: A colorful dish that was pleasing to the eyes and got everyone salivated for the next bite. It was a hit amongst everyone with every person trying to get their hand on the last piece. It was a combination of minced chicken, red and green bell peppers with fried brown onions.
Tandoori Chicken Tikka [AED 36]: Boneless chunks of chicken that were well marinated and grilled impeccably.
Chicken Green Tikka [AED 36]: Creamy pieces of chicken in a marination of coriander, yoghurt and cream that gave a light green hue and a great taste.
Malai Chicken Tikka [AED 34]: The classic creamy flavour that was grilled to perfection.
Peshawari Karahi [AED 34]: One of our favorite Pakistani dishes, the tomato based gravy with a naan is one of our comfort meals at times.
Lahori Chicken Handi [AED 34]: Presented in an earthen pot, this was one of the traditional dishes with juicy boneless chicken pieces in a rich cream gravy base.
Breads: We tried the Kalwanji Naan [AED 6], and cheese Naan [AED 12]. Our favourite was the Kalwanji naan which had black seeds and was an excellent partner to the peshwari karahi. The cheese naan needs to be worked on as it tasted like a manakeesh but was loaded with cheese so we got no complaints as such but to match the concept it could be improved.
Chicken Lahori Biryani [AED 30]: Dining in a Pakistani restaurant and not trying their biryani just cannot happen. The aromatic spices with long grains of rices that were perfectly blended with tender chunks of chicken.
The flavors were mild in all the dishes due to the mixed crowd that visits the restaurant. So if you want something on the spicier side, do inform the staff whilst ordering.
Gulab Jamun [AED 10]: We would have preferred the gulab jamun if it was a bit more hot, since the one we had was barely warm losing its charm whilst the sweetness was on the spot.
We ended our meal with a masala chai because no meal is complete without one after having a heavy meal.
Service: The staff was courteous and made sure everything went smoothly.
Cash Outflow: The prices are reasonable and with Zomato Gold is definitely worth a visit.
Circling Back: We shall come back with our...
Read moreThis place was in my list when I saw their sign boards coming up in Ajman. Masala and co serves Indo Pakistani cuisine which is of my interest. They have ample seating arrangement inside and separate cabins for families, which is an attraction. Their service was pretty good and servers had a pleasant smile whenever you call them.
For starters we had the Royal chicken kabab and Cheese chicken kabab. Kebabs were soft and I would definitely have it again. Next came in the Malai chicken tikka, Green chicken tikka and Tandoori chicken tikka, cooked to perfection and was good too with their special marination.
For mains, we had Lahori chicken handi and Lahori Chicken Karahai along with Garlic naan and Kalwanji naan. The combination was great.
Now this is what we came for, their claiming to have the best chicken biriyani, so its not fair to leve the place without having it. Hence tried their Lahori chicken Biriyani, it tasted different from other biryanis I have had recently, some secret recipe of their I suppose. Have it hot and you will enjoy it.
Finally ended with Gulab jamun, which was again delicious. Oh and couldn’t leave the place without having their Masala tea. They are soon going to introduce unlimited tea offer in the evening with...
