I have been to many chinese restaurants, especially featuring Sichuanese cuisine style, and I consider myself lucky to be a little knowledgeable in this rich and interesting cuisine. This preamble said, I like this restaurant a lot :-).
It is, first of all, a chuen-chuen style restaurant, that is food is located on a skewer and is cooked in a broth. But there are three interesting points to note.
First, there is a huge variety of food on skewers, from tofu to chicken, beef, any sort of vegetables, mushrooms, and various delicious parts of an animal's body too. Skewers are freshly made every single morning, and the quality of the food is excellent, thanks! we can choose the skewers ourselves from a large open fridge, although sometimes it is good to ask for some guidance, as some delicious dishes are a bit difficult to find for us (non-chinese)...
Second point, the cooking broth. In many chuen-chuen restaurants, you have to cook the skewers yourself, and, let's be frank, we (non-chinese) never know when the food is ready to eat or not. In here -and that is amazing!- the skewers are cooked at perfection by the cooks themselves, and are presented on your table in their broth. Which is a great idea, thank you!!!!
Third point, the broth in itself is great! At the beginning, you can choose from chicken broth, which is delicate, flavourful, so nice; or fresh sichuan pepper broth, a little more intense (do you know that sichuan pepper comes in two varieties, green and red?): this is the one I like most!; spicy broth and dry spicy broth (yes, because chili has two different flavor profiles whether it is died or fresh, did you know?) You can even decide to split your skewers and have some cooked in a broth and others in another!
In the menu there are also a number of good and fresh appetizers, and I really like the quail eggs very much :-), they remind me of the tea-infused quail eggs that you can find in good teahouses in China!
So, in a nutshell, it's a great restaurant, go our and try it, I am sure you will like it!!!

Read moreThis was a great experience! It was fun to pick a wide variety of food on sticks and extra dishes. There must have been 50 items available, from simple vegetables, mushrooms, and meats to sticks with combined foods (the beef and enoki was very good) to more exotic foods. Most of the sticks have only a little food so you can easily try many different ones.
The staff cooks them in chicken broth or spicy broth and brings it to your table. You also make your own dipping sauce combination from a dozen or more ingredients. It’s also possible to order some side dishes. I really enjoyed a spicy beef dish.
The result is really fantastic, like a hot pot but much better. The flavour of the spicy broth is fantastic, and it’s also very nice to have some in the delicious chicken broth.
