Disappointing Experience on a Special Occasion

We visited the restaurant with high hopes, especially since we were celebrating a birthday and had made a reservation clearly stating the occasion. The food, while good in taste, came with its own set of issues. The wait time between the appetizers and mains was excessively long, significantly dampening our enthusiasm and interest in the meal.

Despite informing the staff twice about the birthday - once at the time of booking and again upon our arrival - the occasion went unacknowledged. No effort was made to wish the birthday person or to make the evening special in any way. When I brought this up as we were leaving, the response was lackluster. Initially, they excused themselves by saying they were busy, a claim that seemed unfounded since only four tables were occupied. Upon further discussion, they shifted the blame to being busy with deliveries, which did not justify the neglect we felt during our dine-in experience.

The lack of attention to detail and the poor handling of a special occasion left much to be desired. It was disheartening to see such a casual approach to customer service, especially on a day that was meant to be memorable. I was looking for peking duck since our favorite chinese restaurant in DIP closed down. Gladly, I found this restaurant while searching in google map and book reserve a table for me and my friend. The place is inside the Meadows Village and they both have indoor and outdoor seating. But because it was gloomy 31° C weather outside, we dine inside. I was so delighted to have been served while I craved for Peking duck. It was really one of the best! One of the staff stationed in the cashier/reception approached us to ask how was the food and I honestly gave him my feedback on the Peking duck. It wasn't as soft and tender as I had in other chinese restaurants but I said it was OK since the texture really was fine for me. Very disappointed. Ordered steam fish with mushroom as per the menu, but told the fish does'nt come with mushroom. If it doesnt come with mushroom then don't put it on the menu. The fish came with very tiny bones inside. Very bland. needed to add soya sauce to give it some flavour. Ordered brocolli with garlic sauce but it came with no garlic and tasteless. Had to send it back. There was an offer of 20% discount for Repeat customers but when i came to pay the bill the discount was not given as they say it closes at 9,30 pm. Where does it say that ??? they make up rules without informing the customers. Absolutely terrible. The food was terrible, service was okay but nobody there to respond to...
