I can only assume the good reviews are from people who don't talk to the staff. The female staff are so rude I cannot believe they're in a customer service industry!? The last two visits have left us lost for words. The last visit everybody was barked at and told to adhere to COVID rules even though nobody was breaching them. Then the servers friends came in and weren't wearing masks, sitting on the window sill where people enter.
This visit, still no greetings or being asked what we wanted so waiting in limbo wandering if they're ready to take our order or just standing motionless behind the counter?? After server watched me complete the track and trace she then asked if I had done it.....I told her I was doing it when she was watching me. She needs to see it.....er, ok, here you are, again.
Went back to get some cake and was greeted with a sigh and roll of the eyes. Asked for, and pointed at, the chocolate caramel brownie cake to be told they don't have chocolate cake. I was pointing at what I wanted for clarity..........so I asked for the cake I was pointing at. Response of, yes but we don't have chocolate cake.......I'm pointing at it! It says chocolate on it! For the third time I asked for the cake that I'm pointing at and by the way it says chocolate on the label. Another big sigh, roll of the eyes and a shake of the head. By the way, I'm smiling and being very polite and being responded to by a bulldog chewing a wasp. What the hell!?
Everything is an effort and perish the thought of interrupting their seemingly miserable life at work to ask for anything. Never a smile, or thank you or anything resembling someone that wants...
Read moreShocking. Visited today. We made sure to look through the door before entering although there was NO sign on the door stating that only 3 people can be inside at a time. When we went inside we were immediately barked at to wait outside, by a female,rude and abrupt ( eastern european ) server . There was one person standing at the till and 2 other people standing across at the seating area. No one was at the food counter / entrance. It is clear that the server does not understand the company policy as why is it ok to have people standing waiting for drinks less than a metre from the sit down tables with people eating and not ok to have people ( socially distanced ) at the food counter ?? We are used to Covid restrictions now so using these as a reason for rude service simply is not acceptable any more. We are regular customers and have enjoyed our visits in the past but we will not be barked at and herded like animals anymore by Costa. Shame on you.We will only return when we are treated with courtesy...
Read moreMissing part of my order and when I called to query it, the phone was answered by a rude woman who I had to repeat my story to twice before she said “yeah” called to her colleague “she says she didn’t get her latte” and colleague replies that I didn’t order one. Colleague then pics up the phone and three rounds of back and fore “hello” later I gave up on any hope of decent customer service, told the story again, only to be told I hadn’t ordered it - despite the evidence on the receipt. Then told if I wanted it I had to go and get it - having already paid a delivery fee - and basically it was nothing to do with them, and not their problem. Absolutely shocking phone manner from both staff, dreadful customer service, and not even an apology. Really...
