Shakes 'n' Cakes Great Northern Road — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

Don't even deserve the one star review, took my partner to shakes and cakes great northern road first time there you pay for you're before you get served the food the attitude was negative when we sat down from staff who served us like they couldn't be bothered with us. Asked my partner repeatidly what the problem was? She only asked where the menu for panini's was.. we just hadn't noticed it on the menu and asked for it to be pointed out. Anyway went to order. Gave staff on till a £20 note and she gave me the wrong change so I questioned it and she said I was a liar (prejudices reaction) she needed to phone her boss check the till and check the camera's. How embarrassing for her I was right. She sat and coubted every penny in the till. No apology attitude still appalling. I was given just my correct change.My critisim is Shouldn't be working one till if you can't count and should show the paying public some respect and not come to prejudice presumptions . NO APOLOGY. NO CHANGE IN ATTITUDE. BUT SHE NEARLY HAD A FAT TIP IN HER POCKET BETTER £16 from a £4 meal LUCK NEXT TIME. NOT THAT ID COME BACK! The staff member that served me and family was down right rude and arrogant. She clearly needs re-trained in her customer service skills. The impression she gave out straight away is that she didnt want to be there, which is not very inviting for customers. I come over from Belfast to stay with family every couple of months and have never had any issues with shops taking my money. I handed the young girl a £20 note, which was Great British Sterling. The young girl look disgusted when I handed her it and handed me it straight back saying that she couldn't accept it (I can only presume it was because it was not a Scottish note) when I asked why, she said we just dont. Not only did I feel humiliated but this is also completely unacceptable. It was sterling note which was great british tender so there was no reason for her not to accept it. She did not even bother to ask anyone or check with a manager just refused to take my money. To make matters worse, when my cousin went to pay for his, the card machine was not reading his card (was not due to insufficient funds or incorrect pin) and when he asked her to try again she refused. Visited this for the first time, the members of staff working as very lovely and warm to interact with. They are happy to give you recommendations if you are unsure on what to order. The food was bought to us very fast which is nice, and tables and chairs were clean. Food was very tasty, very sweet and filling. I would say that without a tea or some kind of drink it would be hard to eat everything that you order. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the food as it was made well and delicious, however I think we will be more careful with portion sizes as they are very filling and it’s hard to finish your food.
