Firstly the service is great can’t fault that.
However this is the worst quality Thai food I’ve ever had. The platter for two vegetarian tempura was full of grease. Other Thai I’ve had tempura is light no grease oil. Spring rolls were heavy greasy hardly any filling. Fried tofu was so oily.
My past Thai experience I’ve had a few, has all been good, it’s light healthy freshly cooked, not this heavy oily thick battered greasy stuff.
Mains, massaman curry, too much chilli used on mine and my friends, I had vegan tofu he had beef. The flavour was not great. My tofu was so greasy again not pleasant. I couldn’t finish mine at all. If it’s good I can easily finish a dish and want more.
I’ve had great massaman in a Thai chain in Spain and that was full of flavour minimal chilli, taste the coconut and cashews, but Tom yum all you got was heat from chilli on both. The roti was just pure fried grease, I couldn’t touch that it didn’t even look nice.
Also when we got home my friends stomach wasn’t good and he was sick that night and bad the next day also. It was definitely this meal that caused him to be ill.
My stomach hasn’t been great either from the greasy food the following day.
So I don’t know where all these great reviews come from as this is the worst Thai food I’ve ever had.
The best so far was a Thai place in a village in wales and in a Thai chain in puerto banus Spain, also many years ago a Thai takeaway van at craft show outdoor, her spring rolls were light covered in broccoli flower batter, so light full of vegetables, delicious, no grease from frying at all.
You’ve put my friend of trying Thai food now, with him being bad for a night and day.
If only the food matched the service. We should of complained more...
Read moreSaw all the reviews and thought we would try this place out. Nice setting and nice decor although furniture and table linens a bit cheap for a restaurant with this decor. But that didn’t bother us as we were looking forward to the food, and what a disappointment. The poorest quality of meat I have ever tasted, had a weird taste like it was off. I’m no chef but this meat was either boiled and just added to dishes just to get customers in and out of the restaurant quickly. The prices are also really expensive for the quality of food which personally I have had better from a local Chinese takeaway and ate at home...wasn’t expecting that standard from a restaurant. I asked the waitress nicely as to why the meat tasted as it did and the reply was we’ve been doing the same thing for 5 years and had no complaints. Overall bad experience and was charged way over the odds for a sub standard meal. A very...
Read moreWhile it is very unfortunate for owners and staff at the restaurant that the place has been so seriously flooded I fully understand it is completely out of their control, but couldn't anyone have found the time to inform people that had pre booked? I booked back on october 9th for November 8th you had my phone number and email address and you knew it was for a birthday meal. We drove all the way from Hatton near Burton on Trent on friday night to find the place under about four feet of water. A simple phone call or email and we could have booked somewhere else. However, I do wish the owners all the best in renovating and repairing the restaurant and getting their staff back to work as soon as possible, and I will book again and hopefully reveiw the wonderful food I have heard so much about. But for now, this was poor communication on the...
