Decent venue. Option to order at the bar or order and pay at your table (not that I agree with paying for your food before you've tasted it) but I went for this anyway, which was nice and simple to do. Waiting staff were mixed. One of them was a typical grumpy teenager, the other two were perfectly pleasant, although one of them was struggling remembering things a little (forgot my condiments between asking me if I wanted them and reaching the bar area 10 seconds later). Food was also mixed. On the whole, my dirty brisket burger was excellent. However I wasn't sure why there was a finger sized chunk missing out of both my extra slices of mature cheese I ordered in it. The slaw tasted purely of mayonnaise (with added crunch) which was disappointing, and the fries, whilst cooked nicely on the outside, were dry in the middle and not seasoned at all (maybe the seasoning thing is how they serve them though, so I may be doing them a disservice there). The Churros that I had for desert were a little 'pale' on the outside to say the least and slightly under cooked/fried on the inside. The salted caramel and chocolate dipping sauces were nice and rich though, which covered the insufficiencies of the rest of the desert to a certain extent. To end on a positive note though, the freshly squeezed OJ and lemonade was very nice. I have been to this restaurant before and had great service and very good food. Unfortunately today I received neither. I hope this experience was the exception rather...
Read moreGreat atmosphere, although very noisy as it was a Friday night. 3 of the 4 of us had salads. They all stated they tasted OK, but the portions were about 70% of the size reasonably expected. I had the nasi goreng and was disgusted at the small size of the portion. Given it was 90% rice, it was half a cereal bowl size. It was way less than half the amount I have had at any other place I've eaten it, and thats quite a few. It had 3 tiny slithers of chicken. All 3 would literally have fitted in a dessert spoon and not been above the sides (no exageration here). It also had 2 prawns. They were the size of my small finger nail. Overall I felt totally ripped off. The waiter agreed it was a mean portion but said thats what they put out. He did get me a portion (5) of small onion rings to try and make things better. The presentation was also very poor.I’d actually say lazy. Shame as it’s a great place. I wish I had ordered a burger now. In summary, I suggest you eat at home before you go to eat there if you plan on having nasi goreng or a salad.
FOLLOW UP Since posting this review the manager has been in contact privately. Not only was an apology received, but also an assurance that they would review the dish in question with the chef, hopefully so that improvements can be made. They also provided a voucher that covered the cost of the dish, and a little more. Clearly they care what their customers think, which can only be good...
Read moreWent for breakfast. The place was busy but we were not told of any delays for service when welcomed at the door. We ordered via the app and our friends ordered at the bar when they were told the wait would be 40 mins (this happened after we ordered)
We got our drinks in about 5 mins which was fine however after 50 mins I asked where our food was and was told it was "2nd in line" it took another 20 mins for food to arrive. My wife had the maple pancakes which were fine but the portion was small for the price.
We also witnessed a few tables who arrived after get served before us (they appeared to have the same food as we ordered) so I don't think being busy was a solid excuse.
When the food arrived my friends girlfriend had to send hers back as it was cold and she rarely complains. She got a replacement within 10 mins.
The waitress was quite obviously stressed and under pressure so although she was quite "indifferent" in terms of service it was understandable. They were clearly very understaffed but I feel the experience could have been a lot better if people were told about the wait for food as you are greeted at the door.
It was also a bit cheeky that the app asks if you want to pay a tip before the service.
We also heard the table nearby ask for a refund so I feel we were not the only ones.
Essentially, unless you're just going for drinks,...
