We attended the restaurant last week with our elderly and disabled parents, and were shocked by the way we were treated by the owner. On arriving at the restaurant, rather than explain in a civilised tone that the house rule required face masks to be worn when not seated at the table, we were lectured about why masks were required in a very aggressive manner. We were fine with wearing masks but not with the aggressive tone. At the end of the main course we asked for two partially eaten meals (chicken with pasta and a fish dish) to be boxed up to take home. One box was delivered to the table which we assumed contained the chicken and pasta only, so we queried where the fish meal was. The owner then said both meals were in the same box, which surprised us putting chicken and fish together, with the owner adding again very aggressively that as both the veal and fish were by now dry, there was no reason to separate them. When we contested that they should have been put in separate boxes, including the pasta and vegetables that came with each meal, we were subjected to a verbal tirade and effectively told off as if we were naughty children and told not to shout (we had to speak loudly to be heard above the owner who was by now shouting across the restaurant and accusing us of being not very lady like). By this point the owner was being positively abusive and derogatory, making aside comments to other diners in the restaurant. The whole experience was extremely upsetting and humiliating, particularly to our elderly parents who have had limited opportunity in the last 18 months to get out and enjoy eating in a restaurant. We will never visit this restaurant again, as the concept of customer relations, common courtesy and plain good manners seems to have eluded the owner and we would strongly encourage other potential visitors to look elsewhere if they wish to dine in a warm and friendly...
Read moreThe experience was okay as we didn't book we were advised that we only had an hour to dine as yes I agree it was our fault for not reserving a table but we were surprised by a child free night and why not try this place known for its Italian flair!
The food flavour was okay. I wasn't too keen on the pepperoni as it was too thickly sliced and sinew like. The pizza base was a lovely taste and well cooked. I was pleased that the tomato wasn't incorporated which is a first for Italian cuisine.
The calzone is enough for two people cos of the amount of pepperoni and not enough of the substance. The ham pizza was decent enough and as you can see no tomato base and my date (hubb) shared my tomato passata as he felt it was on the dry side The truffle new potatoes was a bit oily.
I will give this restaurant a 2nd chance and maybe try a vegetarian option but guys remember to reserve a table!
Perhaps we could relax and enjoy a meal instead of consuming your meal as if it was a...
Read moreJust an all round great example of traditional Italian food. Good atmosphere and service. ...... a year ago now..... I've have been twice this year and tonight was not a good example of food or service poor on both counts. Avarage food they got the order wrong...that has happened every time I've been now...let it go before but tonight was not a good time to get it wrong. Steak was middle to welldone instead of medium rare! Was too hungry to send it back, the five squares of potato was very scant had to order fries which were unceremoniously dumped on the table without asking if we needed sauces.... another long wait to get any service or attention! Just a very lacking in service and food quality tonight. And when will resturant learn Mange tout are awful choice for a hot dinner aibet like all the vegetables they were served cold on a cold plate! Food...
