Went here for a meal with the family (all adults), my grandfather had a pie which was hard as concrete. We complained and were offered another but he was put off by this point and just wanted a dessert instead. When we ordered the desserts they only had 1 bread and butter pudding left and this is what 4 of us had decided we wanted from the small selection, when we changed it turned out they also only had 2 of the sponges left as well! Luckily there was 1 more option that my grandmother enjoys. When the desserts came out the sponges were like eating pure sugar so most of them were left, the waitress came over and asked what was wrong with them, she was obviously put out by this point as if the problems were our fault. We then had to ask twice for the bill from 2 different people. By this time we were extremely fed up and just wanted to leave. They did have the courtesy to take 20% off of the bill but I wouldn't have expected them not to. All in all, the waitress needs to learn a bit more about customer service, we were far from rude and just wanted a nice family meal out. Very disappointed. We won't...
Read moreFood and service is fantastic but we don’t like dogs in the restaurant. One was behind us and kept coming to one of our chairs causing one of our party feeling unable to finish his meal. Another nearby stood and shook itself and one had its paws on the table!! Surely this can’t be hygienic especially as two of our party have asthma!! On a previous visit, six people with two dogs came to the table next to us and put a mat down at the end of the table for the dogs, blocking any entrance for the waiters and when one of our party who is disabled with a walking stick tried to get to the toilet a woman on that table told him to go the other way, which was impossible because of the way the tables were located. Eventually the dogs were put under the table. On each occasion there were four of us and sadly it is unlikely that that we will return for food. Such a shame because we have dined there many times over the last two years. We are not anti dogs as we have previously been dog owners, but would never dream of taken them to a restaurant. We have no objection to dogs in the bar area but sorry not in...
Read moreIf you pay by card or Apple Pay be sure to ask for a receipt. Bought two drinks £11.20 via Apple Pay. Bought the same two drinks again and when I checked my bank the following day I was charged £17.90. I live 90 miles away so I phoned the pub and someone said the publican would ring the next day. Never heard a thing. A week later I was in Pagham again so I went into the pub and spoke to the publicans partner. She said she was going out for the day and would check the till and het back to me the following day. I showed her my bank charges on my phone. Never heard another thing. So hey if they bother to read this, keep the money, but I will never use this pub again. Whenever we are in Pagham we always used this pub and also the restaurant. My advice is to make sure you get a receipt for any contactless payments...
