So your here to see is it worth visiting the Lion, well just like you I checked the reviews and so glad I did, you can stop reading now and call them and reserve your table Now.
So what you need to know is that the Food was so good that there was nothing left on any of the five plates, everything was delicious cooked to perfection.
Food came out at the same time for everyone, on plates that was hot so your not eating cold food. The meals was also hot and freshly cooked not preheated.
We served by Mel and she is a credit to the establishment nothing was to much and always served with a smile.
I booked this place to eat for some celebrity artists that was performing at the Butlins Weekender, and they said this now the go to spot whenever they are performing again in Bognor.
You will not be disappointed it will be true to say this place is fit for a Queen as the Artists were the Queens of Lovers Rock.
Thank you so much to all the Staff and the Chef amazing it was all they talked about after we left with full belly’s.
Pros: Good Menu, for all meat and vegetarian & vegan dishes. Prices was very good. Clean and comfortable seating area, nice friendly staff.
Cons: No room left in our belly for afters the mains was so big. We all shared a sticky toffee pudding and it was the best we ever had. So not sure if that was a bad thing.
Notes: make sure you book ahead as you don’t want to be disappointed.
Thank you to all you will see...
Read moreMy friend lives local and has been wanting me to come and try the mussels here. I also notice they did lobster Thermidor which is my favourite seafood dish. However on a Tuesday was not expecting this. They did have the most divine mussels I have had in a very very long time. I couldn’t decide so went for 3 starters. I also had the chilli and garlic prawns which were pealed but had the heads still which was nice if you like them. The crab gratin was too die for so creamy and full of crab meat. The portions were huge so I was stuffed. My friends meals were amazing too as I tried these. One had a roasted parsnip and honey soup! Omg this was the most comforting and creamy and piping hot soup! The porcetta main was huge and perfectly cooked. The other had chicken in a creamy tarragon sauce. And not to leave out the side of dauphinois potatoes were unreal creamy and garlicky!! I can’t wait to go down to visit my friend again and visit this lovely little pub that was full of locals and friendly staff x thank you so much for an amazing meal. I never leave reviews but I literally had nothing bad to say for the first time eating...
Read moreAttended on Sunday evening with elderly parents. Upon arrival our table was not ready (no problem), however, the bar was packed and nowhere to wait. Staff appeared to be rushed off their feet, despite half the dining tables being empty. Eventually seated and the entire wooden table was sticky (despite having been 'cleaned' before we were seated). Order was taken only to be subsequently informed one of our chosen meals was now no longer available. Meals were eventually served and hugely underwhelming: two and a half rock hard potatoes, a withered Yorkshire pudding and two thin slices of turkey submerged in a plate full of gravy. Vegetables arrived in a separate dish but just looked like different coloured mush (didn't even try them). My mother was unable to eat the beef as it was so fatty. Come dessert time there was no vanilla ice cream. Now, anyone can run out of vanilla, but we were informed they had not had any for 2 weeks!. To round off a terrible visit, I was violently sick later that evening, vomiting on and off fir a...
