We visited in Saturday evening and the experience was poor and really bizarre. The food was OK, with the exception of the tagliatelle Bolognese. The menus were scrappy, and a couple had been folded and they were hard to read. I have never seen a restaurant that sells food based on price rather than description: reading "whitebait or chicken wings Β£x" and "Sausage roll or soup with bread Β£x" is confusing and puts you off either, once you have worked out what it even meant; I did originally think that a sausage roll with soup was very inventive, but wasn't tempted. The main issue was the service. We were served by six different waitresses during the meal and even with so many people serving, it was still slow; we had to ask for more drinks as no one offered even though the glasses were empty before the main course arrived. We would have spent more if we could get served. It was like an alternative universe where you saw a different person at every interaction. Even with so many they were hard to find, until we noticed that they liked hanging out by the kitchen/ service hatch. A double Gin and lemonade was served in a short glass, so we had to request a gin glass, which they had. I was even offered a glass with ice for a bottle of beer, which is a new concept and probably one that won't take off. After asking to see the desert menu we gave up and changed the request to "the bill" after waiting 15 minutes for the only desert menu which was on a portable chalkboard; at least she was honest and said she forgot about it. Simplify the menu, print new ones each day, bin the bland Bolognese and organize service. Simple is more effective in hospitality. We have eaten in all three of the pubs in Pagham and this one would be ranked forth, if that...

Staff wasn't very helpful and food wasn't great. We tried calling several times the day prior to a family meetup to see if we could bring our dog. We read dog friendly in a comment so brought her. Was told then on arrival dogs only allowed at the bar. It was a bit surprising they didn't even make any suggestions on what we could do or ask if we wanted to cancel our orders and go elsewhere. We contemplated asking our whole party to leave but settled for parking our car by a window and taking her for several walks. When I went to order I wasn't keen on the set menu so asked if there was another menu that wasn't out as we arrived a little later than others. The waitress was rude and didn't explain very well that the only other menu was on the bar chalkboard. I had a Turkey burger and it was just that on a bun with giant birkin on the top on a toothpick so was really dry. The description sounded much nicer. My husband ordered salted caramel for dessert and it came with creme fresh. We asked that not to be put on but still got it. The staff barely came around to our table so we often went up to order drinks from the bar. We easily waited over an hour for the dessert menu - which was annoying as it came in the set menu some of the people in our party ordered from.

We went here as an elderly relative was poorly and this was a pub close to his home. We will be going a bit further afield...

Our party of 7 booked for a Sunday Lunch as a treat whilst visiting the Haven down the road. The menu offered was a Sunday lunch 3 course menu for Β£24.95.

On arrival, the menu was different to the one on the website. We were sat down feeling hopeful as the pub itself is in a lovely location and looked like a typical country pub.

To cut a long story short, 2 out of the 6 starters were unavailable, our family who were also there but booked 30 minutes before had different veg to us on the roasts and nothing seemed consistent. The dessert menu came and again - 2 out of the 5 were not available so had to choose something else! Then when it did come the Eton mess was just strawberries and cream with no meringue which had to be corrected.

Food when it did arrive was nice, but marred by the whole experience of not getting what you would like off a limited set menu as it was.

The Β£17.50 cost of a roast is excessive for what you get.

Could have been good, but unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. Will swerve...

Just had a great lunchtime experience at the Lamb Inn today. My wife and I had a very warm welcome from the young lady, Nancy who's customer service throughout was outstanding and refreshing to see. She helped out a group of elderly ladies with little things like pouring water out for them as the jug was heavy. Even helping them put coats on, well done you. We had the liver and chicken schnitzel followed by sticky toffee pudding and rum & raisin ice cream. All were superb and very tasty. Very good choice of food and they were very careful in checking the ingredients as my wife has a nut allergy. Spoke to the landlord briefly on the way out and said we have had an excellent service thank you. Steve & Linda.

Super Sunday late lunch, booked for 3pm. I took photos of our starters which was Roast Vegetable soup for my partner & Prawn Gratin for myself which was really tasty. Our mains were Roast Lamb for my partner & Roast Beef for myself. It looked so good I didn't think to take a photo (will add some on our next visit). It all tasted every bit as good as it looked & the portions were generous enough that any moor would have been greedy (I would have allowed myself to have been greedy with the Parsnips they were fabulous). We will definitely be returning here as there is no downside at all to mention. Location, parking, staff, food, all really really good πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

A group of 8 of us had the fortune to visit The Lamb Inn for Sunday dinner. We were unable to sit in the restaurant area as our friends had their dog but we had a lovely table in the pub nonetheless. The roasts are exceptionally good and I would go so far as to say that the 3 course roast dinner was one of the best I've had. Everything was cooked perfectly. If I had one complaint, it would be that I would've liked the portion to be a bit bigger as it was so good! The pub gets very busy so I recommend booking ahead. I look forward to re-visiting when I'm back in the area.
