We booked a last minute table for 4pm, they said they do roast but not carvery, so we said that’s fine and went. Now I always praise wherever I go (and I go out a lot!) if the food is good. This was a huge disappointment, the roast cost £15.95 for one meat or £16.95 for 2 meats so we opted for the duo and ordered Roast Pork and Roast Beef, we also ordered 2 cauliflower cheese for a extra £3.95 each… the dinners came out, well first impressions was not good, 3 tiny roast potatoes, veg consisted of peas and a few green beans, 2 parsnips and a Yorkshire that was flat and soggy. The meat look burnt and shrivelled up and we weren’t even sure what meat it was. We asked for apple sauce , which they said they had run out of 😢, that didn’t help. I lifted up the meat and it had layers and layers of fat 😢 we complained to the waiter who got the manager over, he said oh it’s belly pork it says it on menu, we then corrected him and said it clearly doesn’t, it says roast pork, chicken and beef, he said ok il take £1 off your meal or give you a extra piece of meat, we opted for another piece(chicken leg & beef), (this is before we had tasted it), wish I didn’t bother , the food was absolutely atrocious it was dried, tough and tiny. We won’t go back there again . Was so looking forward to having a lovely roast and was so hugely disappointed 😔 ** I would just like to point out, We came a few weeks prior to this at 12.30pm and the roast was lovely and fresh, so hence why we came again with my mum. The only reason I can think why the food was disgusting this time was maybe feeding 70plus customers, and coming at 4pm, you actually run out of fresh food ? You did actually apologise and say you need to amend the menu as other customers have complained today over the wording as one side said belly pork and the other side said roast pork! It was the young lad who served us and there was no apple sauce left.!!.

We hired the lovely upstairs area for a Christening party this weekend. We had about 40 guests and had the silver hot buffet menu. The food was incredible- the best roast potatoes we’ve ever tasted, delicious cheeseburgers, wraps, chicken, sausages and mini pies. There was plenty of food for all our guests and even some leftovers to take home. We were able to come in the day before and put up our decorations and set the room up exactly as we wanted. When we arrived all the guests were served Prosecco or orange juice and the private bar upstairs was great. We had a wonderful party, it was excellent service, child friendly and great value for money- we will definitely be using again and would highly recommend Richard and all his team. Thanks so much to you all!

Me and my partner came for food as a a little date night, we shared the Southern Fried Chicken Strips (They were so good), I had the New Chimneys Dirty Burger and that was delicious, nice and juicy and full of flavour, my Partner had the Hunters Schinzel and she loved it and for dessert we both order the Donut With Ice Cream And Hot Baileys Chocolate Melting Sauce...... We absolutely loved it!!! We wanted more but was full at the same time. We will definitely be coming back for dinner again soon.

PLEASE AVOID If I could give No star I would. We was thinking postive and excited as its been taken over with new owners, well we was completly wrong.I've never had a worst expernice ever. We turned up just before our table which was booked at 6.30 and ordered 2 cokes at the bar. When we got them the syrup went In the cokes. We spoke to the bar staff which then he decided to stick a straw and licked the straw right in front of us to comfirm it has gone. This was super unhygienic and pretty discusting to be honest. From this moment it all went wrong. We got 2 new cokes and sat down. We got the menus and had a look. My girlfriend was Guten free, none of the menu states what has Guten and what doesn't. When our waiter came over we had a few questions for him to ask the chef as the menu doesn't state what has Guten in. In the end of waiting around 15 minutes as the chefs didn't know what had what in we got the allergin booklet. Can I just say poorly done as it's not complete, and just rights off alot of stuff to be on the safe side. After ordering we got some more drinks in half of them was forgotten and had to send more cokes back as now flat. To be fair the starters came out quick but half of them was missing, as the chefs never did them. After they came out everyone was finished as they took too long to do. I spoke to the manager about them and he replied about taken them off the bill as they wasn't done. On to the main event. We waited around over an hour for our mains, in this time we witnessed the owner telling the chefs just the scrap off parts of food and refry it. His words not mine. Getting more wrong drinks as was given diet cokes and not normal. When the mains finally came out, we sent back 4 out the 7 as was cold. After this happening we had enough and seeing the manager earlier on I wanted to speak to him directly. Well what a mistake that was. He was one of a kind, the most aggressive person I've ever spoke to. After explaining everything that has happened he decided to reply with what do you want to pay for. After coming to agreement we wasn't going to pay for what we sent back. That was fine. After walking back to the table my auntie sent back her salad as it was swarmed it sauce. The owner then came over and couldn't believe that we sent that back as well and just stood at our table and didn't say anything. We all looked at him in shock as he was towering over all us like we was children. After an awkward minute he said something wrong with the salad saractistlly. My auntie explained everything wrong with it he didn't say a single word and walked away. Honestly the worst experience we have ever had, the owner seriously needs to get his attitude sorted, and know how to run a restaurant/bar. His attitude stinks and being aggressive is no way to handle any situation. The staff said sorry and this has never happened before everything going wrong. Well Funny thing is we went to the shop next door and they had the same opinion on this new owner. Honestly waste of nearly 2.30 hours of our time...

Four adults and 2 pooches celebrating a birthday. We chose New Chimneys due to its location, being under new ownership so we were curious and knew that it was also very dog friendly from other reviews ... We wasn't at all disappointed, on a cold windy night the entrance was warm and inviting and the twinkling lights inside made you feel very cosy . First impressions of how spacious , fresh and clean it all looked , having been a customer previously we knew how it had sadly gone down hill over the years, the new land lady and land lord have certainly breathed a whole new lease of life in to this lovely pub revitalising both inside and outside . We were greeted with a friendly welcome by the landlord and shown to our seats. Drinks arrived in a flash, food hot, plentiful and nicely presented, we chose 3 courses starters Pan Fried Mushrooms, stilton & garlic sauce on sourdough , Southen fried chicken strips with a garlic mayo dip, both absolutely delicious and would make excellent lunch time mains if the portion size were to be increased.. mains Whole tail Scampi, skin on chips with garden peas, 10oz Gammon, 2 free range eggs , skin on chips with garden peas, Chicken schnitzel, garlic butter, skin on chips with green leaf salad and ceaser dressing.. we all had ample portions , chips were perfect light and fluffy inside but with a lovely crispy crunch skin, Gammon juicy, not salty and the knife went through like butter , Chicken also juicy and tender and the crumb nice and crispy , Scampi really tasty and cooked perfectly.. we rounded our already full tummies off with 2 mini desserts of Salted caramel choc brownie with ice cream which included tea or coffee the other two had Crumble and custard and the Eton Mess, just the pattern remained on our empty bowls and plates which speaks volumes. Bowls of water for the dogs, lots of fusses from the staff and treats.. we were all looked after and look forward to becoming the locals ...
