First time visiting after seeing the cafe on insta. First thing I would say is that the big push on Scandinavian culture is not very apparent here. Although the cafe is clean the place doesn't scream scandi more of a pub garden. The seats are hard and missing comfort. We did not have a welcome, staff on thier phone and the owner (man) sat in the "gallery looking room" on his phone and walking around the inside of the cafe without a mask on. In fact out of the two groups we sent to review this place today all members commented on the terrible covid precautions. There was no hand sanitizer anywhere, no staff requesting track and trace. There was a sign up sheet, with a SHARED PEN but my contact details were then left on a table for all to see GDPR nightmare! Not wheelchair accessible due to the steep gravel slope, although toilet facilities are big enough for a chair user multi-leveled sinks etc. Big point on the breakfast menu is that it all seemed freshly made and great value for money. One of our two groups mentioned the coffee was a bit bitter but we put that down to taste. The seating area as mentioned before was uncomfortable but also sparse with no personal touches or effort made. Inside areas where clean and the toilet facilities get bonus points. On one of the tables we experienced quite a few ants climbing up the umbrella and table which granted the place is outside! Food was good extras like bacon a little pricy. Some outside plants , cushions and maybe a little music would go a long way. The cafe is out of the way where are the adverts on the main road? your missing a huge trick there. Please have the staff engage more and interact because you come across as not beig bothered. The younger of the two groups we sent felt they would have spent more.koney if engaged with. no effort to ask if there was anything else, sauces more coffee etcetc. It was quiet this morning yet a table layed dirty for over 30 minuets most likely due to the fact that staff and owner were on the phone. In summery food quality 8/10 value for money 9/10 environment 4/10 atmosohere 3/10. So many simple little things could be done to improve this place and it starts with staff enthusiasm and owner engagement. If your in the area see for yourselves but honestly don't make a special trip as it will be dissapionted. If you like the desserts go to Vlad he works at the fountain tudeenham( he supplies the better...

We arrive at 9am on Bank Holiday Monday and were the first customers to arrive, by 9.30 the tables were mostly full and the cafe had a wonderful atmosphere.
The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and you know they are genuinely happy to be serving.
The seating area is currently outside due to restrictions but we were sat under a wooden cover and although there was a slight chill in the country air we were surprisingingly warm.
The food was exceptional and locally sourced, myself and my partner opted for the avocado on toast which was presented beautifully and the poached egg was cooked to perfection! Our son had a bacon sandwich, he loved how soft the bread was and even commented that it was the best bacon sandwich he has ever had! Our daughter had the fruit and pancakes which were fluffy and light, and the fruit was fresh, they were topped with yoghurt and drizzled with honey which also went down a treat.
For drinks myself and partner opted for a cappuccino which was made from locally sourced coffee from Bury St Edmunds, we also had the option of alternative milk which was perfect for us as we usually drink oat milk which was readily available! Our children had hot chocolate which they loved and again there was an option of milk or dark chocolate and alternative milk.
Overall all four of us really enjoyed our breakfast outing and we will certainly cant wait to go back.
The only downside was we really wanted to try their semla buns but they had ran out! Oh well just another excuse to...
Read moreLovely coffee shop- can’t believe we hadn’t found this before!! Amazing coffee, impressive range of cakes, great ambiance and very friendly staff.
Offers light lunches too but these are a little over-priced, particularly the “Scandi-bowl” which at the most expensive option (by the time you factor in the additional egg) was in reality quite a meagre side salad with a dessert spoon serving of three salads, a few slices of pickled cucumber and beetroot. ) Open Sandwich wasn't a full sandwich but a single slice of bread with toppings. Excellent quality food, but too expensive even given today's prices. (Perhaps a visit to the Green Room, Ipswich for comparison?)
Very dog friendly, lots of GF and dairy free options but again super expensive. £1.65 for teeny tiny energy ball equiv. is just too much. As one of the inventors of these (later copied by Deliciously Ella) I know what these...
