The only thing you can say for? Thank you, this is how the staff works, no matter what and how people will help you and always come to the rescue. Also very good service from people who choose to clean and wash. Not all hotels have this, but here it is very noticeable, especially since I travel often, and I always see what and where it works. In this case, they work here quite professionally in this regard, as far as food is concerned, of course, the one who prepared the dish for us, and as I understand it, this is probably more for the British, But as a European, I didn’t like the food, because there was so much fatty and a lot of food The food that was most likely used was frozen or one that was prepared a day or two in advance. As for cleanliness in a room like a jacuzzi pool, that's one thing, but if you look, when you're sitting in the jacuzzi, there's a ventilation shaft right above your head, and right on your head. This is a mine. Just dirty. As I understand it, no one has ever washed it for a long time, all this dirt and dust goes straight to your head, just when bleach and hot water along with all this are quite good. It turns out that as for the same rooms, where you are already in the shower, then there is also a ventilation shaft, which also has not been cleaned for quite a long time, so it is worth paying attention to. It is also unclear why in the hall where the sauna and jacuzzi are located. Why doesn’t the shower work when you approach it, it’s also quite creepy there. Also opposite the pool there is a room with large glass windows. They, too, are all either stained or stained. Well, that is, it’s unpleasant. I pay attention to everything quite carefully, what is good and what is bad, so I think that whoever is responsible for this should also pay attention to this, including the gardener, who should pay attention to the plants and trees that are on your territory. They are not quite professional. This means that many trees need to be cleaned in order for them to grow correctly or to the correct size and standard there are a lot of dead branches and essentially down on the lawns. There’s just a lot of garbage that if someone throws it and the trigger is triggered, it’ll just catch fire. I hope you pay attention to this. I hope that I will come again specifically to make sure of this. I also don’t understand why the fitness center, where there is a young man who sits with some kind of equipment so that, as I understand it, determine how clean water. Is there enough bleach or does it meet the standards? Why is this suitcase in an open space and everyone can see it and as far as I understand. This should be closed and located in a special room, and not at the reception, when the client comes to go for a swim in the pool or sauna. Directly opposite you is a suitcase with some kind of chemical equipment. I think this is wrong and this should not happen.

If you are looking for a cheaper option for your accommodation where you can find spa facilities then this place is for you. As it is situated in the outskirts of Ipswich they have plenty of carpark places. Arriving at the reception you might need to wait for a staff member. The anterior of the reception is welcoming, there's free lemonade there if you're thirsty however never tried. The rooms need some TLC. The curtain was just hanging on 2-3 clips just someone needs to fix it. The beds are with spring mattresses. When you are lying on it, you can feel it's kinda sloping which suggests that they should replace them soon. The bathroom - I felt lucky not being chubby or big so I could step in and turn around but honestly if I am double the size of me I can't imagine how to use the shower and how to close the door behind me. The restaurant is offering plenty of variety of breakfast which was pretty enjoyable. If you are vegan you can order vegan sausage. It's probably potato-based sausage and some onion in it. If you're gluten sensitive, you can use different toast and they provide gf bread, celery too. I wished they provide any green leaves, salad not only tomatoes. Every morning the breakfast is the same. Cooked and cold options. The spa - well I wish there would be some restrictions saying between 7-8 the pool is for swimmers only. I thought if I go there late the noisy children will be gone - not every day actually. Besides the pool there's a hot tub and steam plus a sauna. I didn't use the sauna and the hot tub I just used once. Because it was always busy and the room was limited in it. The gym is okay with basic equipments. However I think it's too cold there. All in all we paid a fairly acceptable price for the stay and liked that the breakfast included the price an you can be full for hours after a wealthy breakfast.

First of all, keep in mind that my standard when it comes to hotels is relatively high and as someone who had visited the hotel from abroad, my expactations might be higher than people are used to in the United Kingdom. That being said: My visit here was in 2023, but I wanted to get this review finally done. This is one of the worst hotels I visited in the last decade (and I'm frequently traveling and staying in hotels, mostly 4-stars-hotels). First of all: communication. Non existent. Literally. I tried to contact the hotel prior to my stay via e-mail to make the reservation, but they never replied to multiple e-mails from my side (at least back then they had frontdesk@hiipswichhotel.co.uk as address). So i had to make the reservation differently (via phone call, not directly with the hotel). When I was there at the hotel, I mentioned that they didn't reply to my e-mails, which they immediately dismissed with "probably temporary e-mail-server issues." My room was... in poor condition to be kind (see pictures). Dirty and damaged comes to my mind to describe the main properties of my room. My colleague's room was the same. According to the hotel, the room was the "double bed premium". The food: let's just say I had better even in the United Kingdom. The surrounding property wasn't properly attended to - always dirty with trash and looking neglected. I once saw some kind of rodent roaming the surroundings during the day. In the end I forgot some clothes in the hotel. I immediately wrote an e-mail but - maybe you guessed it - I never received any reply from the hotel. Must have been (again) a temporary issue with their servers. Or stopped checking their address even though it was listed as their contact address back then. Or they just didn't care. I don't know and don't care anymore. I accepted my loss.

Holiday Inn Ipswich is a good hotel in a good spacious location with easy access to major dual carriageways (A12, A14). Nearby is a range of large retailers, supermarkets, restaurants, and a petrol station, which is handy for any traveller. About 2 miles away is the Ipswich Town Centre offering even more facilities.

We stayed in a STANDARD family room at the Holiday Inn which had a standard size double bed, as well as a sofa bed and small armchair. The room also included a 32" TV, storage cupboards, a wardrobe, a kettle with tea & coffee and a good air-conditioning system. The bed was very comfortable, making it difficult to get up for breakfast!!! The room had some minor decoration (damp) defects in one corner, but overall the room was nice.

The bathroom offered a large walk-in shower, which seems to be a standard used in many Holiday Inn hotels. However, the design of the shower is BAD as the glass screen is not wide enough to retain the water properly, resulting in a lot of water pouring onto the bathroom floor causing damage. Although the shower was a good size, the bathroom was extremely cramped with little floorspace. This was unusual for a Holiday Inn as they are often spacious. Closing the bathroom door was difficult unless you stood in a corner or climbed over the toilet! The bathroom offered everything a person would need, but more frequent maintenance inspections are needed as I noticed numerous faults. These were:

  1. the wash basin had several large cracks, however it did not seem to leak.
  2. the chrome water temperature valve in the shower was very loose and fell off when used.
  3. the bottom of the bathroom door was swollen from water or moisture, probably due to the poor design of the shower.
  4. sealants around the bathroom floor were damaged, also not good with such a poorly designed shower.
  5. the toilet roll holders (in use and spare) were located directly below the edge of the basins worktop, resulting in water dripping off the edge of the worktop onto the toilet rolls.
  6. the extraction vent for steam and smells DID NOT WORK at all, so the commonly used phrase "give it 5 minutes" would need to be changed to "give it 25 minutes"!!!
  7. the ceiling had some traces of mould, probably caused by no working moisture extraction.
  8. the toilet flushing mechanism frequently got stuck, and you could hear water constantly overflowing into the toilet bowl. Only with numerous (10-15) repeated presses of the flushing button would the filling stop. Not only was this very noisy (especially at night), it was also a complete waste of clean water! As the bathroom installers have installed the cistern behind a plasterboard wall will NO maintenance access, I can understand why this problem was there, and will probably remain there.

Body wash, hair conditioner, and hand wash were supplied in the bathroom. This was useful if you forgot to bring your own. However, the scents (Kale and Parsley) were an odd choice in my opinion, as who wants to end up smelling like a cabbage or herb after a shower!

Our room was booked with breakfasts included. The breakfast area was very nice, clean, and had a good range of hot and continental breakfasts. The food was well cooked, good quality and had a nice flavour. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Finally, the hotel offered a gym and swimming pool for fitness finatics! However, as the hotel had extremely long corridors, 2 floors and no lifts I did not require these! I left the hotel looking like an Olympian 😂 The carpark for this hotel was FREE and huge, so no battling for a parking space. This is how "ALL" hotels should be!!!

A good hotel, well...

Good morning

I booked 1 room for 2 adults and 2 children , on arrival there was complaints from people so we waited awhile to check in , on check in we was told the sofa bed was broken I'm our room and the other rooms were for 2 adults 1 child.. this wasn't an option as we have a 12 and 14 year old , she then told us after a while of back and forth with the duty manager that we had to have two rooms , which was ok with us although not ideal as the rooms were not together but on the same floor she then charged us 150.00 pounds and we went to our rooms. The children's room absolutely smelt of smoke we had to open all the windows and air it out still I didn't complain ... we then went out the the day on Saturday and was caught in heavy rain on our return we was all soaked and freezing to find we was locked out of our rooms my husband returned to reception and she the same woman (Paula) who said we wasn't allowed back in our rooms until we paid for the second night !!!!!!! She had not charged the second night I thought this was because if the whole mess up that wasn't created by us !! So he explained we needed to change as we are all wet etc she agreed to unlock the key cards , back to our 2 rooms to find she only unlocked the main room bot the children's, who were still wet and freezing we then went to reception together and she said to me you haven't paid I Need payment , I explained it wasn't our fault it was her mistake and told her I didn't appreciate being summoned down to her and us all being locked from the rooms , she's said we'll I need payment , she was extremely abrupt and rude basically making it my fault , in front of other guests I told her she should of apologised and said she didn't take full payment during everyone complaining yesterday and for locking us out of our rooms , she said we'll no don't you think a free room was apology enough !!!!! Disgusting customer service from a so called manager I asked for the complaints number she said everything is on cctv she simply didn't care , a staff member who had seen and heard the whole thing came up to me and apologies for Paula's behaviour and said they had had past problems with her and it was unacceptable and then gave us free drinks , I do not appreciate being treated in this way for a situation that was not my fault at all .. I booked 1 room for my husband and children the whole thing was an inconvenience, I want my 89 pounds refunded.

Very rude woman for someone who's supposed to be some level of manager...
