Titos Ristorante — Restaurant in Babergh

This feels a little unfair to say due to the circumstances (which is why I have still given 3 stars), however...I have been to Titos twice now and had completely different experiences. When I went before there was 6 of us and the service was impeccable and the food was outstanding, we were in and out in around 2 hours. A group of 5 of us went for New Years Eve at 8pm and we did not receive our starters until 9:30pm, bare in mind we prebooked and preordered our food and 3/5 of the starters were cold meats. The waitress with the lovely sparkly top explained that there was only two members of floor staff in that night and she had to come in last minute to cover 3 members of staff calling in sick. The waitress and the waiter (Tony?) were amazing and I hope they get rewarded for their hard work that night. Anyway, we then received our mains at around 10:20pm, which were lovely by the way, but by this point the two tables behind us (both who had come in around 30 mins after us), were finished with their mains before we'd received ours. By 11pm we still had not received our desserts, which was only two required, so we asked for the bill and had our two cheesecakes to go.

The food was outstanding like last time, but unfortunately the under staffing for such a busy night, did show. As I said, the two servers did amazing and I hope they both got some earned time off, but it did make for a lacklustre and...

What a nightmare from start to finish, Arrived at 8pm to be told you will have a wait 45mins for food which is absolutely fine. So we sat down and waited 10mins to be given a menu , then we ordered out started which came with no cutlery and when it arrived the waitress asked if it was ours we said yes then she took it to another table to ask them if it was theres and then they said no so.she brought it back. We ordered a rib eye streak off the specials and wow it took 1 hour for a bit of oily steak which was massive overcooked. It came well done instead of medium rare. So anyways we complained to be told dont worry we will sort it. They didnt even come back. Worst service ever. Next we ask one of the ladys for the bill. Another 20mim wait goes by and we amhad to just get up and pay at the till which then they gave us a receipt of another table. Honestly the night was a disaster from start to finish. Avoid...

We visited in October 2020 and had a wonderful three course meal. Kirsty and her team did an amazing job managing the restaurant's guests and serving delicious food whilst ensuring COVID restrictions in place were adhered to.  We had starters to share for the table which were very generous in terms of variety and portion sizes, and main courses were of a very high standard.  Steaks were cooked to liking and good quality local meat, with lovely sauce and accompaniments.  Pizzas and pasta dishes were also of a really good standard.

I would highly recommend Tito’s if you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion with family and friends, when such things are allowed again – it is a fantastic restaurant with a warm convivial atmosphere, superb front of house team and very good quality food at reasonable prices.  I hope we can return...
