We ordered a flat tyre meal with cheesy chips and a big bottle off Pepsi, and flat tyre was alright but lukewarm, chips had no cheese & so dry and cold and hard, kebab that come with meal was also very dry as sand paper and bottle pop was also warm, don't get me started on the customer service on the phone It was absolutely disgusting never have i had someone speak to me with that tone of voice when order a takeout and her attitude stinks, as I ask for something changing for my needs I got told we can't do this too busy, well I'm sorry but I ring to order what I fancy if you can't do it don't advertise it and if your that busy to meet people requirements, stop taking orders simple as that, I've never in my life left a review until because I'm that appalled with the service, best thing about that was delivery driver he was, polite& well mannered. I ordered a mixed chicken on naan bread which was huge & delicious but the masala curry sauce that I ordered & paid £3 for came in one of those tiny round tubs that you get peas in. I phoned up & was told that I’d only been charged £1.50 for the curry sauce( doesn’t even advertise that size on website) Looking again-at my full bill, I’d been charged and extra 50p for the kebab & definitely £3 for the sauce. She was quite abrupt and told me that I hadn’t and put the phone down. I phoned back, fuming as that small tub of curry wasn’t going to cover much of my kebab & wasn’t what I’d ordered but was then told that £2 was for delivery, not stated anywhere on the website or menu’s. We've used Umars for about 25 years. They have never been beaten on price, quality and reliability. They are a legend in Barnsley We haven't lived in Barnsley for about 8 years but some of our kids still do so we still will quite often get a takeaway when visiting as it works out cheaper to buy an Umars than buy the food and use your own electricity to cook it for everyone. I don't think the original owner still owns it, but he may do, but the tradition of good takeaway at a good price has been kept going. It works, they're always busy every night.
