The worst service ever and they also refuse refunds so i paid nearly £30 for 2 glasses of pepsi! Wanted something 'quick' to eat before work as I'd not been in a while and know it used to be pretty quick, nice and it wasn't busy, nobody mentioned there was a wait on food, i wouldnt have ordered if so. Nearly an hour for lasagne with garlic bread and a halloumi sizzler with no apology for the wait, didn't ask if she could get us any or advise where the sauces are and the halloumi looked like it hadn't touched the grill for a second and that is no exaggeration! Waitress said 'well it has been on the grill' and offered to take it back to the kitchen to cook again, I advised I had 20 minutes left to eat and get to work so I don't have time to wait any longer so would like a refund please to be told 'I'M REFUSING YOUR REFUND IVE OFFERED TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE KITCHEN', I said 'I have just said I've got work, I don't have time for it to go back to the kitchen and get back to me, eat it and get to work' to be told 'well take it home or to work with you' and walked away! I then went to the bar asked to speak with the manager, when he finally came he blanked me, started serving other customers and walked in the back again. When he did speak to me he was the rudest person I have ever spoken to, didn't let me speak just told me he's not giving me a refund either, if i want one i will have to call the head office and to finish my drink and get out! How can a 'manager' think it is acceptable to have customers sat waiting nearly an hour for food to come undercooked and point blank refuse to give your money back, if it was cooked properly when it was brought out I would have quickly eaten it and gone to work. I am honestly so shocked at how bad the service was! We didn't eat any food at all and i had to leave to get to work with no refund! Most expensive pepsi's I have ever...
Read moreI have used this place at least twice a month for the last 3 years, and my last two visits have been so appalling that I've had to leave this review. Visit 1.. 2 weeks ago. This is when I made the fatal mistake of ordering the chilli beef. Unfortunately the menu wasn't accurate and didn't state it was last week's chilli beef,as I clearly wouldn't have ordered it. It arrived almost instantly after ordering, which shows at least they invested in a good microwave, but the food had clearly been re heated more than once, and any nutrients or flavour that it ever had in a previous life, had been drained out of it like my appetite drained out of me ,once I'd tasted the microwave masterpiece. The food was, dry, old, rubbery, and tasteless, it was bad enough for me to even leave my drink and just leave.. Visit 2 : Gave this place a 2nd chance as I finished work late and it's convenient to call for tea usually.. following my last school boy error with the chilli beef last time, I thought I'd box clever this time and keep it simple and order cheese burger and chips.. Well I can only think that they mis heard burger for burnt tyre, as what is in the pictures in the menu, is not what arrived at my table. I can only describe it as a fatty, gristle ridden ,'re heated burger, it was professionally presented on a stale bread cake, generously dressed with 1 piece of lettuce and what I think was a slice of tomato but I'm still not 100% it was .. delicately places next to 5 cold manky chips and a pot of bbq sauce.. Admittedly I can't comment on the sauce or the chips, as I didn't eat them, but I did bite the burger out of curiosity, and as expected it tasted even worse than it looked.. So overall I'd say it's a nice clean place with a good atmosphere, and is a good place to visit for a drink, but id advise you eat at home first, then go for a...
Read moreBooked a table well in advance for myself and 5 friends. Arrived early for drinks and notified a staff member that we had a table booked for 7.30pm. The table was occupied prior to our slot but staff told us which table was to be ours. Our slot was booked until 9.45pm and we continued with our drinks while choosing food from the menu. At 8.05 pm we went to put our food order in, only to be told that unfortunately the kitchen had closed at 8pm so we were too late. At no time during the booking process or upon our arrival at the Eastfield Arms were we told the kitchen closed at 8pm. In fact, we were lead to believe that as our dining slot was 7.30-9.45 pm we could order and eat between those times. The duty manager was not helpful and told us that we should have been told when we were seated that the food order had to be in by 8pm. Food was still coming out of the kitchen but he wouldn’t relent on his stance and merely informed us that we should complain as this had apparently been raised during staff meetings in the past. If we’d been casual diners I could maybe have accepted it was our bad luck. However, the table had been booked earlier this week, confirmed by several emails and we’d had plenty of interactions with staff after our arrival. We had no choice but to leave and continue our evening at another local pub/restaurant, where we were greeted by proper customer service and staff who went out of their way to look after our group, despite us not having a booking. The food, drinks AND SERVICE were exemplary. At the very least, tell your managers at Eastfield Arms to put a sign up telling diners the kitchen closes at 8pm and make it clear on the website and app. We have visited your premises many times in the past but having been treated so shoddily will 100% NEVER RETURN NOR...
