Read moreWould have been 5 stars had it not taken longer than expected to have our meal brought to the table. Upon arrival we were greeted by a member of the team and shown to our table which was great. It was only my second visit to Nando’s so the server was happy to explain how they operate. I was happy to use the QR code to place our order but felt this took away the personal experience. We had our drinks - a smoothie in a carton and an empty glass to fill myself (I ordered water) brought as soon as the order went through on my phone. This was brought be a different server to the one that had greeted us. Unfortunately the ice machine wasn’t working but the water was cold enough so I wasn’t too worried personally. Although I could see customers asking staff about it. Our starters arrived soon afterwards which was great I was impressed. Once we had finished we waited for our mains. I was with my daughter so there were two of us on our table. We could see the restaurant was busy and buzzing with customers and servers darting around. The time we were there was 4pm on a Saturday. Kinda in between mealtimes so I was surprise with how busy it was. However we saw a lot of staff members standing at the serving hatch where the chefs deliver the meals and they seemed to be waiting or just not doing anything. My daughter and I could see our meals on the serving hatch. We asked a member of staff if we needed to fetch the meals ourselves having not been there many times. The server assured us our meals would be brought over. But it took 10 minutes. Other than this wait, we were happy with our experience. The food was delicious and we were asked, by a different server again, if we were happy with our food. I was slightly concerned that the chicken was chewy, but I was so hungry by this point I didn’t want to make a fuss. I’d hesitate to go back but I’d give...
Read moreWorst Nando’s experience I’ve had....
Been going to Nando’s for over 10 years now and by far my worst experience.
Visited Nando’s Basildon (Mayflower) 28th April 2018 and once a table number was provided the problems did not stop.
Started off by placing my order and showing my Nando’s card asking for a humous starter which I had earned enough Nando’s chillis to get for free, yet was still charged and added to the final bill. Also asked for 2x perinaise but that was missed off the bill altogether.
After paying for my order I was cautioned that the wait would be up to 20 long which I understood as it was a busy time in the evening. 40 minutes later we were then advised that due to incompetence (as there was no other excuses) our ticket had been lost and that the store had in fact run out of the starter that we ordered so was offered only one alternative instead of giving us the option of any other like for like starters.
Not long after this inconvenience our meal did finally make an appearance but was missing several sides and the side that did make an appearance (garlic bread) it was very cold and soggy and not at all toasted or crispy like I have become used to.
We then had to signal a member of staff and request our missing sides, which would usually have been done when the cockerel was collected but there was no collection. Shortly after doing this we then finally received our starter (but still no sides).
The finishing touch was that after our meal was finally complete and we had eaten what parts that had turned up we were yet to have someone collect the cockerel from our table to ensure everything was ok, almost as if they knew what are answer would be.
Can’t say I’ll be going back to this Nando’s...
