The Four Horseshoes — Restaurant in Basingstoke and Deane

We came here after enjoying a fantastic meal in February 2020 (pre-covid). Today four of us went for Sunday lunch at 1pm. Ordered 3 nut roasts and 1 fish and chips. After waiting well over an hour, the food arrived. The fish and chips were very good but the 3 nut roasts consisted of very bland deep fried vegetable patties which is NOT nut roast. These were accompanied with undercooked vegetables and potatoes! We then waited a further hour to have our desert orders taken and another hour for them to arrive. The deserts were unremarkable but the topping on the apple crumble was very unpleasant and inedible. On leaving the pub, we noticed other people appeared to be having 'proper' nut roast meals served to them which left us wondering what on earth we were given to eat? We had two courses, 2 rounds of drinks and this took three and a half hours! The young waiters were wonderful but continuously apologetic for the delays and we were offered 10% discount (without any complaining). This is such a lovely pub and I hope that the management get their house in order soon or will lose more custom. Sadly we won't be returning...

I recently dined at a fantastic restaurant that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and attentive staff who made me feel welcome and comfortable. The decor was modern and stylish, with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The service throughout the meal was exceptional. The wait staff was knowledgeable about the menu and made recommendations based on my preferences. They were always available to refill my glass or answer any questions I had.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience. The food was exceptional, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I cannot wait to return and sample more...

Had takeaway Thai food last night and it was absolutely fantastic. This pub is only 5 minutes from my front door and I have been meaning to give it a try for ages, and now it will become a regular 'go to'. The Thai food is very authentic, except for being toned down on the heat , as compared to the same dishes served in Thailand. I have absolutely no issue with this as it makes the food enjoyable to people who don't have a good tolerance for spice, and you can ask then to increase the heat if you want that authentic Thai spice. What makes the Thai food here exceptional is the use of fresh Thai herbs, and an understanding of the balance of flavors that make authentic Thai food so wonderful. We will certainly be going back for...
