I've visited the Longbridge Mill twice to sample their new vegan menu, and had differing experiences on both occasions. On my first visit, I was actually very impressed by the quality of the food. I had the Chickpea and Lentil falafel to start, while the others I was with sampled the soup of the day. Despite ordering the specifically vegan soup, it still came out with butter on top of the bread. This was mentioned to the staff as while we weren't bothered, it may bother others. The falafel starter was superb - I'd recommend that! I then had the Spiced Chickpea, Aubergine and Spinach burger - which was also incredible! It came with chips too, and that was greatly enjoyed. The best part of the evening though was the Rich Chocolate Tart, which they absolutely nailed. The next visit though wasn't so great. We specified with our order not to include butter with any of the soups, yet two still came out with butter. Not exactly reassuring to see that even when specifying the vegan menu and not to supply butter it was still ignored! I then had the Kale and Cauliflower Couscous salad - which had an incredibly overwhelming flavour of lemons. The brocolli was meant to be tenderstem brocolli, but was instead standard brocolli - and somehow it was totally flavourless. Perhaps the extreme dressing was to make up for that lack of flavour! The dish was ruined by the dressing - such a shame as without it the food would have been amazing! If you're looking to sample the vegan menu there, I would give it a go as it's great to show support for places that are offering vegan options - but I would recommend stating that you're ordering vegan food to avoid any misunderstandings! Personally I am unsure whether I will return in the future.

Moral of the story: when eating out don’t try and be healthy! Almost £19 not well spent. So I’ve been to Longbridge Mill a few times and always had a good experience until yesterday. Bear in mind, I have seen the pub a lot busier and online every single time slot to book was still free. We had booked our table around 30 minutes beforehand… Ordered the main course THAT on the front advertised as their new dish. The prawn skewers with a feta and pomegranate salad with roasted vegetables. After waiting 50 minutes for the first two images was what I received. (Yes I do know that I’ve had a nibble at this point on the WRAP). What also made this a bit comedic was the Chief had DROPPED my first skewer. I was given what could literally be two teaspoons of grains, no feta and dry salad. The prawns were definitely marinated in something but definitely had just fried off onto the pan. (Verified by two people). Shells of prawns were burnt. So spoke to a lovely waitress, absolute blessing! She was also a bit horrified at what I had received. The manager also came over, took away my salad and come back with a totally DIFFERENT looking salad (as you can see in picture three)… I just think that for £18.75 or however much it was… I was not impressed. Could make this myself I bet on a budget of £8… SO THEY GAVE US A FREE DRINK ON THE HOUSE. HOWEVER, love this reply, from the manager! you gave us drinks on the house! I asked for a soda flavour that you would recommend… my FRIEND however told you her direct order she had previously and you still came over with the WRONG drink order.

Fantastic pub, a family favourite with lots of character. The food was excellent with a great range on the menu. Unfortunately, on our last visit we were left a disappointed with the service. Our waitress was Amy K, who was friendly, but a little unprofessional. I had to ask were our drinks were after waiting 15 minutes, and when they arrived the ice was almost melted, meaning they had likely been sat on the side. She did not come to check on us during our meal, offer more drinks or clear away our starter plates. After our meal was finished we were not offered the desert menu, so decided to get the bill. After half an hour of failed attempts to catch her attention, we finally requested the bill and were asked to "wait a moment". I completely understand if the restaurant was busy, but we visited between 7-9 (ended up being 2 hours due to the waiting), and our section had only one other table of diners. Ultimately, we still loved the food, and have recieved great service in the past, so I do not want to rate too harshly. However, Amy's apparent lack of care soured what was otherwise a lovely evening.

We visited as a family today and we left absolutely miserable. It was a birthday celebration that we booked for my father and the service we received was diabolical. So much so that it caused the toddler in our family to become distressed and I had to walk out and leave my meal as the waiter and the manager were so unbelievably rude and refused to abide by the law being that anyone over the age of 16, accompanied by an adult can have a drink with a meal. I was asked for my ID and i provided a photo which was not enough so i accepted and when my father asked for an extra glass with our bottle of champagne for myself, they refused and said that it was due to me not having ID. We brought up the law about being over 16 with an adult and they said they don’t abide by that law here and they’ve changed it… i looked on the website and it stated that nowhere. I am almost 20 years of age with tattoos and i was holding my son the entire time. i don’t look under 18 at all, let alone 16, i also provided a picture of my ID. I have worked in hospitality long enough to know this treatment was despicable. May i add that the other two people accompanying us were not asked to provide ID, one of who was actually 17 and therefore did have a drink with her meal. I left the restaurant in tears after how i had been spoken too and saw the waiter smirking at me from behind the bar. Other than that the food was cold, and i was not able to even eat the rest of my meal. We doubt that after the shocking customer service we received today that we would receiving any money back or money off our next visit. I am considering taking this further and to social media too as I’m a reputable influencer who was excited to make my posts about my experience but i’m afraid i’m leaning more towards posting what my visit was actually like today. So disappointing as this pub used to be our family favourite. Disgraceful, to...

3 of us had a meal there today (wed 6 nov). We arrived at approx 2.15. The food was good, large portions. The service was appalling, very very slow, even though there was only 6 or so people in the mill. The drinks were served, then after half an hour we had to chase the menu, even though all 3 people were using walking aids. Menus brought and we were told it would be table service because of walking aids. Half an hour or so later one of us had to go to the bar to order the food. Once ordered food came in good time. Once eaten another three quarters of hour we had to chase the bill. No one came to take payment. The person, I take to be bar manager, printed out the bill and instead of bringing it over, stood talking to other customers for 5 mins, the bill was brought to the table and was told the machine would be brought to us, 10 mins later we had to chase some for that too. I would like to state that apart from the occasions when we chased for service etc.NO MEMBER OF STAFF WAS VISABLE, FRONT OF HOUSE. No one checked if meal was ok or if we required another drink or dessert or coffee. All 3 of us were wrapped in shawls because the room was so cold that it was almost too cold to stay. The whole time we were in the mill, there was another table that had brought their dog. The dog barked the whole time, from us going in at approx 2.15 to them leaving an hour or more later. Also a child that was completely unruly. The whole ambiance of the mill was wrong because of a barking dog, its owner saying, why or you barking, shush, be quiet, no more barking you bad boy. NOT CONDUCIVE TO AN ENJOYABLE TIME. So all in all, SERVICE DIABOLICAL, ROOM ICE COLD, NO STAFF AVAILABLE AT ALL. Not an enjoyable meal, which it should have been. Not a place I would recommend nor that I will be...

Came here on a Saturday with friends and our two dogs after visiting a nearby sunflower field. I had already booked a table in advance, so on arrival we were seated very quickly at a spacious table (for the dogs) and there was already a highchair at the table as per my request when making thr booking. Why can’t all pubs/restaurants be this organised!

The service was good and staff were friendly, however I must say that our waitress wasn’t the smartest and messed up our bill. Unfortunately I had only realised after I got home and so it was too late to do anything by then. I had a complimentary drinks voucher and also a £20 off £40 spend voucher, she put both vouchers through the till and it worked but told us the drinks voucher didn’t work. It did work because on the bill it said free drink £0 and the code has now disappeared from my vintage inns app due to being redeemed. I was still charged £5.70 for the ‘free’ peroni though. The children’s menu was £7.25 and included a glass of milk or squash, however we were still charged an extra £0.50 for the milk. So all in all we were overcharged by £6.20.

The food in general was good however some ingredients did not look the freshest. It would have been nice if the carrots were peeled prior to roasting and the cabbage and broccoli were checked before cooking (they were a bit manky/dry/stale). The cucumber stick from the kids meal needed to be washed (skin had white marks on them) and the carrot sticks were dry and weren’t cut/peeled properly. They were so manky that I ended up feeling them to our dogs instead.

Overall not a bad visit, however being overcharged has left me feeling a bit bitter and also with the meals being fairly expensive I would have expected fresher quality ingredients and better...
