Bit disappointed if I'm honest. Took my dad here for lunch to treat him for father's day after having tested it with another family member the week prior. The first thing that was said to us was "you can't bring that Pram in here" which i was a bit taken aback by as we hadn't had a problem the previous week with it. The lady had a bit of an attitude on her and said my daughter could sit in a highchair. This wasn't possible because my child is only 7 weeks old and can't even hold her head up, let alone sit upright. She then said we could bring the carseat in. A baby can't stay in a carseat for longer than 30 minutes at this age due to the increase of sudden infant death syndrome so I said that wasn't possible either. I looked into the restaurant and there were only 2 tables being used by a total of 3 people. I asked which table was ours and asked if we couldn't just put her in the back corner beside it where there was space and it was away from walkways and other tables. There was a big fuss made and ultimately she agreed. Soon after both the other tables left and it was just ourselves in the tea room. I would have understood if it was busy and we had been told this on a previous visit as well. Then the same lady proceeded to approach our table again and start the same conversation about prams again with us which I just dismissed as it seemed she was just trying to prove a point and start an argument due to the tone she was using. After we had finished and paid she approached me for a third time and said the same thing again at which point I turned around and told her it hadn't been a problem the previous week but if i had known I wouldn't have booked. Her demeanor has really put me off returning as she was just plain rude and obnoxious about it. I understand the rules but when we're potentially your only customers that afternoon, is it really worth turning away business? And why try to prove a point about it 3 times? Just bad service skills in my opinion. Our first visit was really lovely which is the only reason it got 2 stars instead of 1. Disappointing that she couldn't let the matter drop and it put a dampener on my dad's...
Read moreWow! Last weekend nine of us attended a baby shower at the tearoom. We prebooked and we all ordered afternoon tea. From the beginning to the end of the visit was amazing. We were welcomed by a very friendly waitress who took our order. Two of the party were Coeliac (gluten free) and they had put aside slices of cake for us incase we wanted it. The sandwiches were excellent especially the gluten free. They can be dry and tasteless but these were full of filling and perfect. The gluten free scones were the best you could get. They didn't crumble and you were able to spread jam and cream easily. The carrot cake was lovely too. Moist, tasty and didn't crumble. The other guests enjoyed their afternoon teas as well. A huge variety of sandwiches and cakes. Friendly staff throughout. We weren't rushed at all. We were able to sit back and relax. Even at the end we were all paying separately and one of us cleared the payment. The waitress excepted the apology and sorted it for us. One of the reviews mentioned that this place was as good as places in London. I honestly have to agree. Perfect from beginning to the end. We will all be returning...

I recently was surprised by my family with an afternoon for my birthday at The Parlour Tearoom and I could not fault anything. The place itself is so beautiful with quirky little quotes, beautiful decor and is spotlessly clean.
The service was amazing, all the staff went above and beyond and could not do enough for us. There was 10 of us and nothing was too much trouble, they also ensured we always had what we needed or any extras.
The food was exceptional. All the sandwiches were so fresh and tasty! The scones were to die for- still warm with large amounts of cream and jam provided which was so yummy! Then the cakes… well the cakes were just beautiful! Different options to suit everyone and any that wasn’t eaten was boxed up for us to take away.
From start to finish the team, environment and food was faultless. Myself and my friends/family will most definitely be returning.
Lucy and her team should be very proud of what they have and I would not hesitate to recommend to...
