Where to beginâŠ
We arrived hopeful and excited to try this new spot, but it turned into an exercise in frustration.
We placed an order for two cocktails with the front-of-house staff, only to be told later that they didnât have the ingredients. Oddly enough, the table beside us was able to order cocktails shortly after and went through the exact same cycle of confusion. The lack of communication between staff was glaring, and in their opening week this should already have been addressed.
The layout is another problem. Tables are crammed so close together that when servers attend to the next table, you find yourself dodging their backsides while trying to eat.
Service was amateur at best. The server delivering food repeatedly admitted she didnât know what she was carrying and giggled awkwardly each time. It came across not as endearing, but unprofessional.
When we asked for vegan options, the server instead recited gluten-free dishes. Itâs concerning that staff in a food service environment donât know the difference. The supposed vegan dish then arrived with prawn crackers â unacceptable.
The cleaning practices were equally unpleasant. Strongly scented sprays were used directly on tables while guests were eating, the mist landing on our arms. The overpowering smell made dining uncomfortable.
We also witnessed a table being âcleanedâ for new arrivals while dirty napkins, a fork, and food scraps remained underneath. The new guests simply kicked the rubbish aside.
As for service, one guest nearby requested a fork and napkin, and was handed an entire packet of tissues placed directly on the table. Only when the front-of-house intervened did it get corrected.
In short: the staff were friendly enough, but shockingly inexperienced, the food itself was unremarkable, and the overall experience was sloppy from start to finish. This restaurant has opened too soon, prioritising greed over readiness. Unfortunately, I wonât...

However, there are some points to pay attention to. I understand itâs a new restaurant, but it never leaves a nice feeling when staff start putting things away before closing time.
We arrived at 8:30 PM for our reservation, and the place wasnât full. Not long after, one of the staff began putting the table lamps away. That said, the staff were very welcoming, checked in on us throughout the night, and were genuinely friendly. The service overall was enthusiastic, which made the experience positive, but collecting things while customers are still seated just isnât very welcoming.
Also, not sure what went wrong, but the waiter managed to get our order wrong. We ordered the same dish for two people, red Thai chicken curry, but somehow ended up with green tofu curry. There were only our table and one other occupied, so Iâm not sure how that happened.
Again, Iâm giving 5* because I believe the owners will pay attention to reviews and address any issues, as itâs in their interest for the business to succeed locally. Being local myself, I want to see this restaurant thrive. The food...
Read moreSuch a great little spot, nestled on the Belmont Road!! I had the chicken gyozas to start-probably the best chicken gyozas Iâve ever had to be honest!! Chicken fried rice as my main, which was incredibly fresh tasting & the chicken was cooked to perfection! To round out my meal-Sticky toffee pudding, which had such an incredible texture (light & moist), and was very tasty indeed!
The service was top knotch-our server was attentive, without imposing, and really friendly! He always had a smile on his face, which was really welcoming, and the entire staff seemed to have this very chill, family atmosphere.
We eat out regularly, so weâve been to a LOT of places in Belfast, but this little spot will definitely become a regular for us, and itâs also local, so win-win!! We canât wait to go back & try more of what they have to offer!!
My only tiny bit of criticism would be that the music was a little loud, so made chatting a tad hard, without having a raised voice.
If youâre looking for some Asian food, with great service & a family vibe, you wonât go too far wrong with this place :) And definitely grab the chicken...
