Street hawker — Restaurant in Carrickfergus

I rang this premises as I’ve heard that it serves great food … unfortunately I did not get a chance to try anything.. I am not a tech person and do not download apps for food deliveries as in past I’ve been scammed of money. I simply rang this establishment to ask if I could get a delivery order over the phone ( like most establishments do even if they are on delivery apps) the young girl who answered the phone was so polite and tried to help by saying she thought they could but I could hear her superior in background , in no uncertain terms, tell her to tell me ( in a very gruff and rude manner) that NO I would not be allowed a phone order and couldn’t understand my problem with doing it via an app! The young girl was very polite and tried to disguise this as saying they were very busy , which I am sure they were, but at that time they could not take my order. I wish I’d asked her name as she was extremely polite and did try to help. However the superior obviously did not care to make money or be more helpful .. I doubt I will ever be trying this place now as a result of one rude member of staff .. I was also going to sample quite a few things from the menu as well but now I don’t see this ever happening.. a shame but I’m not the one missing out financially… Very...

Worst experience ever the staff were so rude and didn’t even ask us did we want any drinks and just took the order by mouth instead of writing anything down , no customer service what so ever , the wait was shocking with the restaurant being empty , the food was freezing when it came out and the roast beef was like an old bit off leather and the knife wouldn’t cut through it , I had to call the waiter over to ask them to try and cut through the beef it was impossible. They took the dinners away then brought back 2 different dinners which I add was the exact same 2 plates of dinners minus the Yorkshire puddings. Once again unable to cut through the beef had to recall the waiter and literally ask them to taste the food and cut the meat and said it’s ok I believe you I can see it’s unable to cut and the food is freezing. The 2 kids meals came with 6 skinny chips and 3 pieces of chicken. It was diabolical. We ended up just leaving the restaurant and went else where as this was just ridiculous. I would avoid this place...

What a truly delightful wee place! Our new favourite takeaway!! Street hawker is the best thing to happen to the East. The quality of their food is outstanding. None of your generic crap that most restaurants seem to be pumping out these days! This wee place is heads and shoulders above those generic places!! The quality of their food and the portion sizes is honestly superb!! Well worth the money! That munchie box is incredible. It Took 4 of us to tackle it. My favourites are the big pork belly chunks with slaw & the prawathon Ross prawns. The gravy and dips are superb as an accompaniment & I love ordering them. The homemade pesto is a game changer. A boy named char Sui which is loaded fries with char Sui and pickles, chilli’s etc is absolutely incredible, it takes me and my 10yr old to finish it. It’s so tasty and really packed full of flavour. Their smash burger, KFC burger & wings are all really tasty as well. Oh and that corn dog is amazing!!...
