Won't be back here in a hurry! Booked for a party of 6 to be put into a tiny booth which seated 4 at best. Although I had asked to be moved to a larger table so that my partner's elbow wasn't in my face every time the person didn't speak very good English and suggested sitting outside in nearly 30 degrees heat. The Aircon if any seemed non existent and unless your face fits and of a certain colour, as observed by several members in my party you are treated differently. Harry at the bar deliberately went to the person behind us whilst waiting to order drinks which he was politely pulled up on. The food came out and was just plonked on the edge of the table, so was the pile of plates and cutlery. Customer service is very poor despite having ample staff members walking about yet at not one point were we asked how the food was and you had to go up to the bar to order drinks and food. The large mixed grill was nice and was ample but the chicken tikka masala tasted like tomato soup. I personally couldn't wait to get out of there as I was sweating so bad I had it dripping from my forehead. I know spicy foods can make this worse but at least have sufficient aircon to help alleviate this. Was right near to the rear garden which meant everybody walking past in and out and felt as if we were sat on top of one another who was also dining. The door staff are seating the guests, not the restaurant staff?! It's a shame as it's the first time visiting here since it changed from the Hillyfields pub which had a bad reputation and I honestly wanted to leave feeling good vibes and wanting to go again. I'd made up my mind within 20 minutes of being there that this won't be a venue to return to and not as good service as other balti houses we've visited previously which the staff can never do...
Read moreI visited this place today with my family(4 of us), and I have to say the food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were generous. We were really impressed by the the food, and it’s honestly some of the best we’ve had in a long time! Most of the staff were also fantastic—friendly, polite, and welcoming. However, there was one exception: Sue.
We arrived at 1:20 PM when the restaurant wasn’t busy. Sue gave us a table for four with chairs, but my daughter kindly asked if we could sit at a sofa table instead since it was free and there were plenty of empty tables around. Her response was unnecessarily rude—she said the table was for six people, even though it was actually for four. She didn’t even let us to explain anything she just rushed away. To make things even more frustrating, the exact same type of table next to it only had three people sitting at the table. We thought maybe she had misunderstood our request, so my mom asked again, as she is suffering from back pain and would be more comfortable at the sofa table. Despite there being multiple empty sofa tables, Sue refused again, clearly irritated that we had asked a second time.
What made the whole situation even worse was that those sofa tables stayed completely empty the entire time we were there. Even as we finished our meal and left, they were still unoccupied. It was really disappointing because we had such a great experience with the food and the rest of the staff, but this left a bad impression.
If not for Sue’s attitude, this place would have been perfect! The food was absolutely amazing, and the other staff were wonderful. It’s a shame that such a small issue had to leave a negative mark on an otherwise...
Read moreI dined at the Copper Fox Grill with my family and friends last Saturday and experienced a quite unbelievable first - the staff "lost" our food order! In all my years of dining out at eateries all over the world, this was really quite unique and remarkable. After patiently (& hungrily) waiting for an hour and ten minutes, my cousin asked one of the waiting staff how much longer the food would take, only for them to say "5 mins". 5 mins went by and my cousin went up again, and one of the staff came over and asked us "what we had ordered?!" Needless to say, both my family, friends and I were far from impressed, so I decided to personally take this up with the staff who were barely apologetic and kept insisting that they had "lost" our order and that it wasn't their fault as they had had issues with their system (they offered neither a refund, nor a partial refund at any stage, but simply said that either we continued to wait for our food to arrive / got a full refund - it was almost 10pm and we were ravenous, so we weren't going home without having eaten). I then asked to speak to the owner / manager, who then came and spoke to me and again was barely genuinely sorry for the appalling and unacceptable customer experience we had had. They 'magically' found our order once I reminded them exactly what I had ordered, put it through their 'system' and offered us a round of drinks to make up for the grief they had caused us, and quite incredibly our food turned up about 5 mins after they had actually processed the food order!! Needless to say, I won't be dining at the Copper Fox again and they seriously need to look at their...
