I visited Pesto in Sutton Coldfield for the first time and was absolutely impressed. The concept of Italian tapas dishes is fantastic. It gave me the chance to try a wide variety of flavors without having to commit to just one dish. Everything I ordered was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Each small plate had its own unique taste while staying true to authentic Italian cooking.
One of the best parts? The prices were extremely affordable. For even just £20, you can easily enjoy at least three different dishes, which makes it perfect for sharing and trying new things without breaking the bank.
The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming. Everyone had a smile on their face and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Service was attentive, helpful, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.
A special shoutout to their non-alcoholic wine, a lovely, thoughtful option that added to the meal in the best way. It's not something you find everywhere, and I really appreciated it.
Honestly, I have no bad comments only great ones. This is without a doubt one of the best Italian restaurants in the city, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for amazing food, great value, and excellent service.

Read moreSo lovely inside and out but the crockery and cutlery already on every table is off putting. Firstly, we do go there to eat - we go for coffee or a drink so every time we sit down we have to push all the plates, glasses and cutlery to one side. This in itself isn’t a problem as such, but it makes me worried about the next people who come to eat at the table after us! We’ve handled their tableware - a lot! Yuck! I’d never eat here because of that! Goodness knows how many people have been handling my plate and cutlery before me!? Even the napkins are set out! Such a terrible idea! So unhygienic and it’s not a good look either! Preset tableware? No thanks! Coffee is expensive because it’s served in small cups! Even cappuccinos - all in the same small cups. They are trying very hard to un-pub the place (previously incarnation) and I can see what they’re trying to achieve but if you’re not eating, it feels all wrong! Despite the tableware issue, it must be good food as there are always people eating there (and the few rebels like us) have a drink. Beautiful decor & furniture. Some young, slightly gauche staff who seem new to the service industry perhaps but are polite and helpful. All in all, a lovely pub / restaurant. Would...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but I had to make an exception for Pesto because they were absolutely brilliant.
I was planning a surprise party for a friend (never again, by the way - it was absolutely madness to sort out), and the team at Pesto made the whole thing so much easier. I must’ve called every week for about two months, constantly changing the booking numbers, asking questions, and just generally being that person. But Shannon, who I spoke to over the phone, was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout. She never once made me feel like I was being a nuisance, even though I’m pretty sure I was.
When we finally got there, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food delicious. I really loved that the menu is built around smaller dishes as it’s perfect for someone like me who can never decide on just one thing. It meant we got to try loads of different things, and everything we ordered was delicious. The pricing was also great! Very fairly priced!
Couldn’t recommend this place more. They really went above and beyond and helped make the night special. Thanks again to...
