Boot Inn — Restaurant in Birmingham

Terrible experience. I am exempt from wearing a face covering. I politely told the Manager this when I arrived at the pub. She refused to serve me & made a scene in front of my party. I then asked to speak to her privately & advised her on the law for exemptions (showing her the Govt webiste) which she neither knew or understood. She then made a call to the owner I believe who also advised her to not serve me, even though I had politely explained I was exempt from wearing a face covering. I told her that this was against the disabilities act & I could personally take her to court, which again did not bother her. I quietly left the pub with all my friends remaining. I then phoned the Manager 5 minutes after I'd left to try to explain the law. She was rude & arrogant & told me I'd already wasted her time & put the phone down. I now need to decide whether I take legal action against her personally under the disabilities act. This is the last thing I wanted to do after meeting friends for a quiet drink for the first time in months...

Went along on Christmas Day. Was previously booked. We were put in the corner which wasnt a problem but the table had no mats, no cutlery, nothing was christmassy pre-booked. We sat and a bar lady whom we found too busy to have time came nearby, I asked is there any crackers on the tables? She replied, " I will see if they come out later". Then within 5 mins she came out and plonked 2 down to us, and continued a round placing them nearby to an 8 seater table who were already nearly finished their dinner. It was no thought, preparation beforehand. It was no way the young staffs fault. The starter was lovely. The dinner was not bad. Then the lovely young guy brought out 2 chocolate/ice cream puddings, I said I dont eat that as we had booked xmas pudding. He kindly went back to sort it. I certainly, wasnt impressed with all the phone calls I'd made to find this as the outcome. First time ever I've felt no atmosphere no xmas music. Poor. Certainly...

This is my first time visiting for food and I won’t be back. The menu has been simplified but still doesn’t reflect the menu offering. I ordered beef lasagne, which was unseasoned and half made up of melted cheese but I’ll excuse that. It was supposed to be served with sourdough garlic bread and pesto drizzle the both were non existent. What I did get was a slab of dry baguette. When I questioned it I was told that the chef said that’s what it comes with so I asked for it to be replaced with garlic bread but no one returned. I then went in to speak to a manager I was told a manger wasn’t working. I spoke with a young lady and the young lad came back to clear our plates even though we hadn’t finished so that the staff member I spoke with could ‘check our food’ I found this appalling and I won’t eat here again!
