Carol and Kyle at the bar were very abrupt and rude to my friend - Going as far as to call her "a freak" because she ordered the vegetarian carvery. Very pushy in regards to our order - rather than letting us have an open tab, we kept getting told to just order off the set menu to stop being awkward (with quite a bit of attitude). Had to ask the server whether there was anyone serving on the Carvery twice, as we stood for over 5mins just waiting. Carvery server seemed quite miffed whilst serving. (We saw another customer having to wait not long after us for a few minutes, as the Carvery server really seemed like he didn't want to bother leaving the kitchen). Some of the food choices were room temperature (loved the roasties, though!). Big shout out to Amy who came to see how we were. It was also lovely to see how she interacted with the other customers - a very friendly person! All in all, Carol and Kyle dampened the mood and atmosphere. Whether we caught them on a bad day or not, there's no way you should be rude to someone who just wants to order a vegetarian meal! Unfortunately, we won't be coming back for a long time (if at all). Also, my friend and I weren't even asked at the bar about any allergies yet Carol had filled out "No allergies" on our receipt, even though I have a dairy intolerance!

Went here as a last minute thing, never been before for Sunday lunch so I can't compare it to what it was before. Our meals were all fine except for the macaroni cheese which you can see was a dried up pile of pasta. Needless to say this didn't get eaten as it didn't look appertising once on the plate. Their carvery is brilliant and for the price you can't fault the food in anyway. There is no need to book even though we did but you turn up find a table and order what you want from the bar, quite simple really. The sweets were fantastic and worth the money and portion size is just about right. Their prices are very reasonable so you can't complain really on any level. However the reason why I have only given this a 4 star rating is one for their macaroni cheese and the seats, they are a little worn out and not that comfortable to sit on. So having coffee afterwards is a no no due to their seats, otherwise can't fault the place.

All of the wait staff were lovely and friendly, However we were seated in a tiny booth (there were 5 of us) which was cramped and not big enough for everyone to sit comfortably. The chef cut the tiniest pieces of meat possible from the carvery and the "slice of beef" was literally just a raggy bit of fat - for the price of the carvery the amount of meat u get is terrible and clearly the chef doesn't think to even cut off a piece which is atleast edible. The selection of veg was minimal and disappointing compared with other carveries. The carrots were clearly just dry frozen carrots with zero taste, the stuffing was baked to death and one of the roasters i'd picked up had a rotten patch in it (see pic). It's as though no care or attention whatsoever is put into the food.

Mixed feelings about my visit. Me and a friend who is in poor health with mobility issues chose to have a breakfast on the :too good to go option. After raving about my experience which I had recently with Toby carvery, so thought after taking my friend to her medical appointment we could try a local place. We had been too early so we chose to have a nice warm drink whilst we waited. On the door we explained to the lady who was the host and asked whether we could possibly have our meals with our drink. She had said no but I understood as we were early but then it was time and we chose to buy another round of drinks. I asked again as we would rather have our breakfast hot with our meals but she declined and in other words made it feel that we paid for the cheap option, which doesn't include dining. Now! Money was not reason I chose this. One, I really do believe in the cause of not wasting food and like the fact of mystery of not knowing what to expect in your surprise box. I understand if we were just buying the meal box but we had several round of drinks and perhaps would've had a third if we were able to stay. We were treated very cold. Even though each time we brought our empties back to the bar. My friend who had been struggling to walk and who is disabled thankfully met up on Katelyn or Caitlyn, a really nice worker who we asked if we could borrow some cutlery just to go outside and eat. She agreed we could and her whole persona was refreshing. It was a great relief that one person out of many treated us with compassion and warmth. Admittedly the breakfast was at a very good standard but given this an opportunity to encourage the boost in sales, plus repeat business, so hope this feedback proves useful. We had purchased more than the breakfasts twice in full with drinks alone and if we were given the opportunity to stay, we would've happily purchased more and would perhaps return more frequently due to regular appointments in the area. So we definetely didn't need to be made to feel we were cheap.

Once again, a massive thanks to Caitlyn for your...

So we went to breakfast with santa a group of 9 which was a xmas meet up to be told we had to be on 3 tables. So we asked to be put on a table all together as it was xmas meet up so they first told us there was no table and when we asked if we could sit on a long table that had been vacated they said at first it was reserved but then said yes as long as we were out by 1130. The kids tickets for santa were reused they had other kids names on i would expect my own childs name on the ticket as the experiance wad 10 pound each kid !! ... over all i feel like it was poorly organised you had booked to many people at a time with a rush to kick us out and the food was all ok though was eaten quicker than replaced and as we were on a time limit we couldnt wait for the food to be brought back out. Santa was good he made a real effort to entertain the kids walking around while they were eating to reduce fear when they went to see him but deffo not worth 9.99 when the normal kids breaky is 99p for my kids ages. The staff made us feel like we were being awkward for asking to sit as a family even though id booked it weeks before and when i spoke to the bar lady she said she was shocked that she was having to give out reused tickets and appoligised because i asked if this was the 1st year they had done this or if it was a yearly thing to which she said it was every year. This made it even worse in my opinion as it wasnt even...

New Review

We visited the Fox Walmley yesterday, 20th March, for our family birthdays. We decided to go here because of the variety in menu choices.

We choose from the 3 courses for £14.79 and 2 courses for around £13.00 very good value. I received an email to have 1 free mains with other meals ordered as a birthday treat. We were served by Emily, who was a great help when ordering and sorting out the free meal.

Husband and I had the carveys with desserts, and my son had the fish & chips starter crispy chicken, then 2 scoop strawberry sundae 🍨.

The meals were delicious, very good portion sizes. The carvey meat was tender and nicely cooked with veg and gravy. We had Apple pie & custard and Choc brownie and Ice cream once again desserts were delightful.

We throughly enjoyed our visit to the Fox and will be back in the next few months.

We meet friends for my hubby birthday today 16th April. We all had the carvery. It was one of the best carveys we have had. We good portions of meat served the gammon turkey and Beef was cooked perfectly tender and soft ,we as much vegetables as we wanted. We were served by Andrew who was very attentive to us. He recommended the waffle sundae 🍨 which was lovely. My husbands came with a candle to blow out. Thank you Andrew for serving us today and for the extra touches for my husbands birthday. Thank you so...
