Having lived in Walmley for most of my life and been a regular at The Oak for many years, I was initially disappointed when it transitioned into a gastro pub and chose to stop visiting. However, with the recent change in management and a refreshed kitchen, we decided to give it another try—and I’m very glad we did.
We ordered a few drinks, the prawn starter, beer-battered tikka starter, the ribeye steak special, and a sirloin steak. Everything was cooked exactly to our preferences, and the texture and flavor of the food were outstanding. I can confidently say I prefer this steak over what I’ve had at Miller & Carter.

Read morePopped in yesterday for lunch, can't believe the new prices!! £15.95 for a burger!! I think they now feel they are a "fine dinning" venue. All prices have escalated. They have a long way to go before justifying new prices,the pub desperately needs new decor and furniture. No wonder the place was empty! Had one drink and went to Horse and Jockey much better atmosphere and prices. Good food too. Sorry Oak always enjoyed food but won't be spending hard earned cash while your prices can not be justified...
