My family and I came in the Hunters Moon on 16/10/22. We ordered food about 13:25pm. When we ordered, we had asked for a child's burger with no salad and cheese. The lady checked that we wanted a plain burger with cheese, with this we also requested extra cheese on the garlic bread fingers and chips, which the server also confirmed. When our food arrived the children’s burger came with salad (not requested) and cheese as requested. The garlic bread came with out cheese. My partner advised the server that we had requested cheese on the garlic bread. He went off, and then returned to say we hadn’t paid for the additional cheese. My partner tried to explain that we wouldn’t be mentioning this if we hadn’t asked for it and believed that we had paid for it. However I proceeded to pay for additional cheese to be placed on this. When the garlic bread was returned, clearly the bread had cheese put on and heated as the cheese had only just melted, while the bread edges were burnt. In addition to the kids meal, we also ordered 3 adult meals and two portions of heresy garlic bread, when these arrived 1 was under cooked with minimal cheese on and the other was burnt, So that you couldn’t eat them. I asked for these to be replaced, so sent them back, when receiving them back 1 come back spot on and the other one come back pretty much the same, undercooked. My partner attempted to eat her meal which was the superior chicken New Yorker, which she normally has when we dine here but all of the chicken was hard as a rock. This then meant I had to complain about the fact that she could hardly cut her chicken to try and eat it. Since being served the food, we had no-one complete a check back and I was having to go to the bar to discuss the issues. With my partners chicken, we were advised that the kitchen could make new chicken, but my partner noted that while waiting for the chicken the rest of her meal would go cold and so we opted for the second option, a refund. I was told that the refund could not be processed straight away due to the use of the blue light card. By the time I had dealt with all the food issues my own meal which was the mix it up was stone cold and I could not eat it. Me make regular visit to this pub and I have found that on recent visits, since the introduction of the new menu I have tried to order the salmon on the mix it up and it never ever in stock. Why is it on the menu if you don’t carry it? Since the menu change I think the food not the same. Today we had a partial refund of £5.29 however I was told on the day the refund may be slightly less than the price of the meal due to the meal being purchased with the blue light discount and because we had the two for 12. I was also told that one of the garlic bread would be refunded, but when you consider I couldn’t even eat my meal as it was cold, the chicken New Yorker hardly touched and the garlic bread I do not think that this amount is anywhere near suitable. Nor the lack of...
Read moreFour of us came to dinner yesterday evening. My friends in fact , had took myself and my partner out to celebrate our wedding. We were hoping for a booth and one seemed empty but there was a glass there so we asked a staff member who was quite rude and said that she was sitting there. It wasn’t the normal staff booth where they can normally be seen taking breaks or filling in paper work …and the staff booth was empty.
She didn’t move for us to sit there, so myself and the party sat elsewhere. The food wasn’t up to par, and the fizzy drinks were flat. A couple of us wanted to take the rest of our meal home but we wasn’t checked on by staff at any point.
I’ve visited here plenty of times and not had a problem but the service and the food wasn’t up to scratch today.
And I’m quite disheartened that what was supposed to be a celebration meal was just disappointing.
I’d also like to point out that when my husband left a review, the manager replied saying that the staff members need to take breaks, they work very hard and they would have moved.
Firstly dismissing feedback is quite rude and unprofessional, and for this reason as well as the poor experience we had, you have lost two customers.
Secondly the staff member in question didn’t move, nor did she offer to move when the staff booth was free.
I’m sure your staff do work hard, but I didn’t see many staff at all today never mind many that were hard at work
And lastly I understand that your staff are entitled to breaks but that is why companies have staff rooms and that is why your establishment has a specific booth where staff are regularly seen taking breaks and...
Read moreWell, this is definitely not a place we'll be returning to. Visited today with my partner, mum & dad after a morning at the games. Dad had the classic lasagne, it appeared that this was a micro meal placed into their own dish as just a thin slither, however enough for my elderly dad, but served with burnt garlic bread. I had the southern fried chicken skewers served with veg on a hot plate. The veg had to be scraped off the plate and couldn't eat as it was so burnt and ruined the taste of anything, and the chicken fried at least 10 mins too long. The best was my partners meal of Authentic Chicken & Waffles, supposedly chicken goujons and waffle pieces with chipuffalo sauce and maple flavour syrup. Just the ONE chicken goujon and a very small splash of sauce. I expressed my disappointment at my partners meal with one of the serving staff highlighting that I'd given him one of my chicken skewers as I wasn't impressed with them anyway, and at least he'd have some chicken. No apology or anything, only a remark that the food is served by weight and not necessarily as the picture on the menu. I'm aware of that, but just the one chicken goujon.... really?! I'd expect more than that in a child's portion, let alone an adult one! I guess one out of the four meals was enough for the restaurant, but not enough to convince...
