The New Garden Gate, replaces the recently refurbished Garden Gate which itself was a refurbishment of the old, dated and run down place it used to be. The new open plan layout and updated decor and lighting can be a bit of a shock if it is the first time you visit if you were familiar to the old Garden Gate. There is ample seating throughout and it all feels nice and clean, however, at busy times, you may find it difficult getting a table. The drinks were good, and service at the bar was quick, but it wasn't the cheapest and in line with most of the recent grille/restaurants around the area.

Tried the standard mix grilles and naans on my visit, and tbh, it wasn't the best. Not too sure about the green chicken tikka and portion size was too small for what it cost. The naans that were served were more like large doughy chapattis, and totally not what I was expecting. Disappointing. The young team of serving staff at times showed their inexperience, and service was very slow.

Granted it may be early days, and hopefully the service and quality will get better, so it will be interesting to see how it improves in time. There is a large car park, but no disabled access (no ramp that could be seen at the front entrance as their was before).

Worth a visit, yes, nice interior and layout, but quality/quantity/service of food needs to improve, and drinks may be too expensive...

To be honest I would give this minus a million worse pub ever avoid avoid avoid so I booked a table for 6 people to be seated inside for the football euro final yesterday absolutely disgusted by the way we were treated my son turned up at 730 to be told at the door it’s first come first serve as we were driving back from London also various others were in taxis on route we arrived at 750 after driving in scandalous weather to be on time to be told the same so I ask to see the manager who cannot even be bothered to come out to talk to me by the time England has scored the first goal so we missed out at this point I was on the verge of tears so I ask the guy again what’s going on and he was like you can go and stand in the garden where it is pouring down with rain so I go to the bar ask whose the manager someone says the gut in the check shirt he comes over no manners goes I’m not the manager what’s the problem utter disgrace at which point I walked out read reviews food ain’t all that customers have been sick after eating here we were loyal customers I would never step foot in this place I have told all my freinds and family no manners no loyalty no respect to honour our table thanks pavan for your disgraceful behaviour I took your name when I...

Tried this pub after being disillusioned with other local Indian pubs and was pleasantly surprised. After several visits and trying various dishes, I am now of the opinion that the Garden Gate is one of the better Indian pub and food eateries in the area. It has a good family atmosphere, a good mix of people, excellent choice of quality food with generous portions at very reasonable prices. A reasonable choice of well kept quality beers all served with helpful friendly staff. I have been a regular for the last three or four months visiting once or twice a week. Always managed to get a decent table and be greeted by staff. The head chef mixes with the customers and is willing to give advice and receive special requests. To enjoy this family atmosphere at its best, I would advise to give televised big football matches a miss as pub can get busy and a little rowdy by football followers watching the various big screens situated around the building. All in all a great Indian eatery and pub....

The food arrived really dry and stale. We ordered garlic naans and cheese garlic naans but we got plain naans. The lamb curry was really dry not much sauce or lamb, the garlic chicken curry was ok, the prawns were very bland and for £9 we only got 5 prawns which was embarrassing. We also got no salad with our food. The lady waiters were from India and couldn't speak English very well when we asked a takeaway bag she took 30 min to get it to me. The tables were dirty with the previous ppls mess that ate there and we had to ask for them to be clean. The lady sprayed the detol when our drinks were still on the table. The chicken tikka was also lacking flavour and so dry. Wasted £66 on a bit of food when we could have got better food at another Indian pub. Really sad because they use to have really good food and service. Won't be returning again. What you see in the pic is the whole order we had.

Went to The New Garden Gate and it was epic! Started with Chilli Chips – spicy and addictive. The Paneer was super creamy and the Chicken and Lamb were full of flavor. Hard to pick a favorite. The service was top-notch. Staff were friendly and quick, making the whole place feel like a family-run business. They made us feel right at home. And guess what? We even met the owner! It was great to see the person behind the food, and they were really welcoming, adding to that family vibe. The place was clean with a nice, cozy vibe, perfect for grabbing some comfort food. Overall, The New Garden Gate is a winner. Fantastic food, awesome people, and a family feel that makes you want to return. Totally going back, and you should too if you’re into tasty Indian food.
