Having recently moved to the area, we were excited to try our new local Indian restaurant. With such a large and vibrant local Asian community, we had high hopes. What we got was literally the worst takeaway city that either of us has ever had.
We started with onion bhaji and aubergine pakora. Both cold, limp, flaccid and greasy. Main and sides were vegetable zaflong, daal makhoni and a masala sauce. The zaflong was acrid and acidic. The vegetables were overdone and soft. The daal was a korma sauce (that was cold and had split from being reheated) with a spoonful of crunchy, undercooked black lentils added. The masala sauce tasted like it’d come out of a jar and had a handful desiccated coconut added.
The breads, a paratha and a naan, were both tiny, greasy and cold.
The raita was clearly from a catering-size tub full of preservatives.
We are used to a bag of poppadoms with a takeaway. We were, I suggest, lucky to avoid that here.
£30 wasted. We binned what was left of our meal and had toast. Though we’ve learned our lesson and will try further afield next time. This local was...
Read moreDine India is one of the places myself and the girls go once in a blue moon for a treat. There is a good variety of foods for all tastes, whether you like meat, veggies, mild, medium or strong curries there is something for everyone. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. There is parking for about 10 cars or so in the carpark also. The reason it loses a star, is the same reason why its a "treat" and not a regular. The Prices are really quite elevated to a lot of other Indian Restaurants we/ I have been to but I guess you are paying for village restaurant and not a buy-in-bulk city centre/melton road place. I always find the staff very attentive, they are there when you want them, not lingering when you dont, no rushing you out. Will vary menu meals, polite etc. I can only think the people who have said they are rude and not attentive must have had staff responding to them as I have never seen them behave in that way and Ive been going there for well over a decade. Ive also rang in for takeaways and always find them to be accommodating and...
Read moreThe food is really good the lamb itself was very chewy but sauce was amazing the only thing that lets them down is their service i found them very rude like we were an inconvenience as a group! Not helpful at all just pure sarcasm and rude when asking for dish advice but because the food apart from meat was good we decided on a takeaway and once again phone call service was horrendous so rude and such difficulty asking too many questions to order next time we will stick to curry houses that are friendly, polite and the food is lovely such a shame as their food could top everywhere else local but their customer service is awful clearly they think their too big for their boots now! Food may be good but your...
