Well, what a beautiful evening we had in this bar...unexpected on an average Wednesday...G, the owner was warm, welcoming, generous and has a very interesting life history...owner run is difficult to beat. Lovely, lovely ales and beers. A, who we had an extensive and wide ranging discussion with is probably one of the most erudite and interesting young men we have ever met. Challenging and truthful...from the heart. Probably not what you would expect from a review of a bar but it was not an ordinary night. Go here and enjoy...

Great find for me as I enjoy German beers especially dark / Dunkel varieties. Easy to find on one of main roads through Kirkham. This was a Tuesday early evening when I visited & was fairly quiet but customers increased towards when I had to leave. Huge selection of bottled & draft german beers & was delighted to find my favourite Kostritzer (black lager on draft). Plenty of large bench type tables + couple of large screens showing sport when I was there. Great find for me & I will certainly return to try...

Would not give any stars if I had the choice. It was pretty much empty when we went. No decent menu, not a hint of what food was being sold. Then despite the staff seeing me walk up to the bar to order drinks and ask more about the non descript menu, the extremely rude staff preferred to carry on with their idle chat to each other rather than ask what I would like. After four minutes we walked out. They still carried on chatting and laughing. ...
