117 Bistro Bar — Restaurant in Borough of Pendle

A Gem! Superb local produce expertly prepared by their fabulous chef. Owned and fronted by a delightful young local couple who are both charming and friendly. We arrived before midday so plumped for breakfast/brunch. We had two oat lattes which were perfect. In terms of decor; It’s light and airy in a quiet ‘Scandinavian’ way; yet, it manages to be cosy; tables and chairs are all very comfortable. It has a lovely ‘buzz’ about it! A great atmosphere and I’m looking forward to returning for an evening out next time I’m in Lancashire. Subzero temperatures outside but inside it was lovely and warm! Now onto the yum yums. I’d describe their breakfast as a real ‘Ooh Ah’ experience! I almost couldn’t believe the taste of the sausages, oh yum and the delicious bacon, vine tomatoes, mushrooms, beans in a pot & sourdough bread! Everything is so wholesome and fresh! I’d asked for a poached egg and it was perfect. Quite a feat! The last time I ate a brunch this good, it was in central London.

Recently opened, I can easily see this darling place becoming the favourite eaterie in Barrowford. The food really is...

Kelly and I were on a first date (Friday 28th July 2023), and were really glad that we chose here to chat and have something to eat. Kurt and Gen (the waitress!!!) were perfect hosts, who totally engage with their customers, and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are really wonderful hosts, and made us feel very welcome. We both had the Halloumi Flatbreads, and the food was of excellent quality, even though the portions were actually too much for us to finish (see attached photo). The ambience of the bar was really nice too, it has such a homely feel about it. We were made to feel extremely welcome. And, to cap it all, Kurt and Gen even stayed open later than usual, so that we didn't feel rushed. We will definitely be going back sooner...

Wow what a little gem of a place 😆 was welcomed as soon as we arrived and was given a choice of tables. We were served more or less straight away asking what drinks we would like. Also didn't wait long to order our ood and it arrived in good time. Both me and hubby ordered a burger, was very well presented, huge and it was really tasty! The atmosphere felt very much like being in a city bar, bustling, great music and just an overall lovely feeling.

To top it off the staff were very friendly and very attentive, nothing was too much trouble at all. We had a good natter with Jen and the staff at the end of our meal and we will definitely be going back. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome on our first visit and my birthday.
