The waiting staff are lovely. Awful food, had the Fleetwood platter which consisted of about 8 briney soggy prawns, a 1” square of Smoked salmon, 1/3 a fillet of Mackeral fillet,a cube of poached salmon that about 1.5” cubed, a 1” size piece of Melba toast, 1 large teaspoon of Mackeral Pate (with the crunch of calcified bones presented alongside a large leafy green salad with a sugary dressing for £12!
The mustard mayonnaise coleslaw was just a bland oily emulsion & the chips an odd texture that was neither crispy or soft.
The Passion fruit cheesecake was just some fluffy lightly flavoured whipped cream creation, the base was quite good for texture but the smattering of Passion coulis & 3 chunks of Mango gave the only burst of actual flavour. I like cheesecake but that was almost pure cream, poor in texture & absent of any comfort food factor.
The Latte was like a used coffee cup had been swilled out with hot water & milk, no full flavour but an odd bitterness and my friend had a ‘soapy’ tasting Flat white.. (sadly only photo as we were not of the mind to take the pics initially). We were asked how it was as they took the dishes away but they didn’t seem bothered which was why I wanted to leave some type of review.. the Fleetwood platter Ali’s being sold as a ‘main meal’ not a ‘light bite’ and as such is gutting for a hungry grown man but for an more mature customer with a much smaller appetite & larger wallet is probably just the thing. Neither of us will be returning to eat here again & cannot recommend it as value for money or as good quality produced food.
Gutted as I am paying the bill for my friend as he was so let down & I had bigged it up from having had a previous good visit but quite a while since.
It has been absolutely embarrassing & really...

Visited today with my young baby who has just turned one. Place is nice and clean, some nice art pieces. Waited 15 minutes at the table for staff to approach to take the order although it was very quiet and we looked over a number of times at staff but were ignored. Whilst waiting baby kept reaching for the small tea light in the candle holders. This is a plastic tea light ive seen in dozens of restaurants. I did allow her to hold it for a second as it was turned off, big mistake!…. As the tea light was broken and when i took it off her i noticed the back wasnt covered and the lithium batteries which are smaller than a 5p had dropped out. Baby grabbed one, spent a few minutes in a panic trying to find the other two, thinking she swallowed them. Luckily found the other two in her lap. Had my food, which was ok, a cheese onion pie which was ok and chips which were soggy and cold. On leaving tried to raise the issue with the tea lights with one of the female staff- who dismissed it saying well you shouldnt allow her to hold it. I accept that i shouldnt have assumed the tea light was safe but really… is it too much to ask for you to remove broken and hazardous items from our table. Explained this to the manager who was a lovely chap.. who accepted most of the tea lights are broken and that this was a near miss incident. If baby would have swallowed that battery she would have likely been disabled for life or even dead. Manager was kind and waived payment for meal. I was in two minds about posting because he was genuinely a lovely chap, however i am just posting so people with children are aware and in the hope staff remove the...
Read moreWe usually go to Banny's British Kitchen restaurant when we visit Boundary Outlet Colne, as my wife loves their Indian style fish & chips, however, we went for tea at the Bannister restaurant inside the store this evening to take advantage of their 20% off food offer, if you dine after 4pm Mondays to Saturdays. My wife had 4 'sticky chicken goujons' tossed in a sticky honey mustard & siracha dressing for her starter, which were delicious. I had the 'classic prawn cocktail' with Marie Rose sauce, baby gem lettuce, pickled cucumber & crispy bacon bits with bread & butter, which was probably the best prawn cocktail I've had😋 I had the steak & ale pie of the day with chips, broccoli and gravy as my main course. The pie crust was light, the pulled beef inside was tasty if a little dry and needed the gravy - overall a very enjoyable meal. My wife had the scampi & chips with green peas & tartar sauce as her main course, which she enjoyed - in her opinion not quite as good as the scampi & chips at Bizzie Lizzie's restaurant in Skipton but better than at our local chippie The Frying Yorkshire in Gargrave. I had the sticky toffee pudding with popcorn ice cream for dessert, which wasn't the best I've had but still very good. My wife had a Slingsby gin & tonic and a latte coffee & I had a pot of tea with our food and the total bill was £49.65 (a saving of £10 with the 20% off the food costs), which was good value for a very enjoyable meal in a light, cosy space served by...
