Vegan review:
There were a couple of vegan options on the menu labelled (VE) but also we were told that things could be veganised.
To start we ordered the dip pa de do dah, it came with houmous and 2 non-vegan dips to begin with, so we ordered more houmous as we couldn’t eat those dips. The garlic flatbread was amazing and the houmous was so tasty.
We also ordered the mushrooms but they arrived with cheese on. They left the cheesy mushrooms with us for the non-vegans while they cooked some fresh. They were lacking in flavour, maybe a vegan cheese to replace what was taken off would’ve made it better.
Then we ordered the butternut squash risotto, it could have done with cooking a bit longer and a bit more flavour. They usually have Parmesan in it so maybe a vegan cheese replacement would’ve been nice.
We also got the kebabs which were listed on the menu as vegan. The bread that it came on was so tasty and lovely.
At the end of the evening we were served with scones with jam and lemon cream which were delicious and complimentary! I’d definitely order these again.
The staff were great and the service was too. It would’ve been better if the dishes that were veganised came without anything not vegan on them, I did ask a few...
Read more3 of us visited today after I found it on Google we had been to boundary mill and I for one needed food and a beverage. Good menu selection along with specials and a good drinks menu also. I had a pint on bread and butter something or other very nice. Food wise I had the burger with the extra bacon and cheese because why wouldn't you. The wife had a BLT and we both asked for garlic mayo for our chips. Food was very good served with a smile and all hot the mayo more like a homemade alioli very nice but defo for the garlic lover. Mother in law had a courgette and thyme soup, all well presented. I finished with a black coffee which I have to say was one of the best I've had in a restaurant bar ever. Hot and strong in a good sized cup (not a bowl, I hate those things coffee goes cold way too quickly) So if your in the area give it a go friendly smiling staff great food and drink in nice...
Read moreI have visited Tubbs on numerous occasions and been pleased with food and staff, however on Friday 24th march I visited with my family celebrating my son's birthday, I had prebooked for a party of 9, on arrival we were seated at a table that should have comfortably seated 4 at a push maybe 6 people, there was no room to have drinks on the table when the food arrived, the starters were good but the main course was very poor, the £28 ribeye steak was shocking, over seasoned poorly cooked and most of it was left on the plate, the prawn screwier was just prawns on a pile of greens with sauce over it, the chicken was tasteless and chewy, all the food was served on cold plates so it went cold very quickly. After spending over £350.00 I was told I could not be given a receipt. One was emailed but with no breakdown of costs etc. I will not...
