Absolutely amazing food. I finished my meal before I could take a picture it was just that good. I ordered off the specials and had the smothered pork which came with black pudding, bacon, mash and a creamy mushroom sauce. It was divine. My partner had the fish and chips and the children had fishfinger and a burger. I was impressed at how good the burger was for a children's meal. The service was excellent, they kept our drinks filled and food came out promptly. This was an excellent experience and we would definitely return if we are in the area. We ordered dessert l, the children had icecream, I had sticky toffee pudding (it was awesome) and my partner had jam rolypoly. I highly recommend visiting here. Even if it's just for a drink as they have plenty to offer on draft.

5 star service. How a British pub should be run, welcoming and friendly. Pub itself is modern décor, cool in summer inside with plenty of space. Outside is a small beer garden with children's play area with great views of surrounding hills. Large car park. It's not posh.. the beer garden could be described as a bit scruffy but it was lovely in the sun and kids enjoyed themselves. Standard pub food menu at reasonable prices, service was excellent. Kids were given a free ice cream too just to finish off a good visit. Dog friendly throughout, so much so my dog stayed while we got in the car and I nearly forgot him!

Stopped off here en route home from Great Yorkshire Show. The pub is nicely decorated with a large car park, and a small play area outside. The staff were all very welcoming, and the food was fantastic. Only small negative was the bathroom was in need of a paint & the door cubicle didn't lock. Great food, warm welcome, and cheap prices. Will definitely return when passing again.

So 5 adults and 1 toddler went to the Punch bowl for Sunday lunch at the weekend and i can honestly say we will not be going again. When we arrived there were no staff members to be seen and we had to wait about 5 mins for someone to appear behind the bar. We were then told if there were more than 4 of us we would have to push some tables together as she was too busy and would be back in 5 mins to take our drinks order.

Another member of staff then appeared at the bar to take our drinks order. Coffees were ordered and i can honestly say they were horrible.

When we asked for the children's menu we were given one scrappy piece of paper and asked to return it as they only had one for the entire pub!!! we ordered 5 sunday dinners and a childrens meal and we were left waiting almost 2 hours for it to arrive. When we asked what was taking so long we were told it was because it was busy - the pub wasn't even half full!!!! there was bare minimum on the plate after we waited 2 hours just a couple slices of meat some frozen cauliflower cheese FROZEN YORKSHIRE PUDDINGS and about a carrot between the whole table. We had also paid extra for 2 meats which was the thinnest slice of ham you could imagine.

There is just no care at all the staff just didn't want to be there and i think the kitchen staff nipped home for a brew, we had to practically chase the bar staff just to get drinks. It cost us £105.00 and there are plenty of other places we could of gone for that money which are a lot nicer.

Ho and the toilets are also disgusting and smelly and the cubicles are very small you have to practically climb on the seat to close the door. The baby changing table is right under an extractor fan so there was an almighty breeze - and the table was dirty!!.

If you want nice food in a nice environment please don't go there you are just...

We went for what we expected to be a lovely Sunday meal out with family. 6 roast dinners and a child’s meal, one was brought out much later than the rest as it had been forgotten on the order. Beef was fatty, inedible, roast potatoes were hard and appeared to have been reheated. Veg wasn’t much better, the stuffing was undercooked and stodgy, Yorkshire pudding was overdone so had a burnt taste. Everyone sent more than half the food back on their plates, when asked if everything was ok we told the woman no, explained the above, she apologised and said she would inform the kitchen. Asked for the bill, got charged full price and she said she wasn’t allowed to knock anything off the bill. The child’s meal wasn’t much better, 3 small fish fingers which wasn’t what was stated on the menu, peas came in a bowl of water and chips looked like they had been reheated. All in all a shockingly terrible meal, wouldn’t recommend to anyone, wouldn’t come again and will be spreading awareness of how rubbish the food...
