Whilst organising a day trip for pensioners from church and looking for somewhere to stop for lunch I went on line looking for a carvery but was disappointed by the reviews that had been posted, I went for a drive to try and find somewhere suitable. Having passed the spinning mill on a number of occasions whilst working but had never stopped, on visiting early afternoon I spoke to the bar staff who were extremely helpful and supplied me with a pensioners special lunch menu at this time we were looking at about 30 pensioners. The cost of the meals was fantastic at £5.55 for two courses, there were 6 main meal choices , the same number of sweets and starters. The landlord Neil phoned me on a couple of occasions and by this time numbers had grown to 39 and finally 47 people. Neil and his staff had no problems catering for the extra, on Weds 4/4/18 we arrived at 12pm and the two top rooms had been set out so that we were all sat together almost immediately our food was served and it was fabulous and enjoyed by everyone with most asking when we would be returning. The menu is simple and honest pub food, nicely presented on the plate, tasty and filling. Prices are easy on the pocket too. Good selection of draught beers and spirits.
