Second time visiting restaurant metamorphica. We would go more often but our 6 month old keeps us busy. My husband and I love this place. From the ambience- has an industrial vibe with the decor and love all the books and artwork along with the handmade by the chef furniture. The food is amazing it is a set 10 course tasting menu and I had the wine flight. The food is just amazing and I would encourage anyone to go. The price for the menu is amazing. The service from head chef Stephen is second to none he is a very genuine guy and passionate about his food and ethos for his business. He is genuinely interested in his customers and we were very touched at the end of the meal when he gave us a card congratulating us on the birth of our son and a happy new year card. A truly wonderful experience. Steven is a fantastic chef and host. His creations were divine, each as beautiful and tasty as the next, winding through 9 courses of utterly gorgeous and mouthwatering dishes (all apparently forever changing). The drinks journey was a nice change from a usual wine pairing, with a variety of different to compliment the dishes. Tipping this from great to excellent was Steven himself; sitting at the chef's table, being able to interact with him as he artfully constructed each dish really raised this above the traditional experience. It's not only about the food, which is exquisite, it's the experience of spending a great night out at a very talented chef's place. My other better half booked us a Friday night at Metamorphica (what an impressive name) for the tasting menu and the accompanying wine and all was phenomenal! We sat at the chefs table where we had the opportunity to watch Steven doing his magic, chat and learn a bit more about his journey in his art.
