Stayed here last week with a colleague for a work trip, got a meal deal with premier Inn and have done numerous from brewers to table and table to beefeater and this is by far the worst I've ever done!
1st off the toilets one side of the restaurant m and f were closed (fine) the toilets male anyway the opposite side that were open were awful! Good 2cm of water (presumably) covering the proximity of the floor, very slippy and grim, mentioned to I assume the manage he shrugged and said "yeah we know" then walked off.. he didn't care..
Secondly the food, once the food comes nachos literally had a dash of cheese sauce and a dot of salsa, very dry.. the main meals come out, me and my colleague both had chips with ours and they looked like the final bits from the bottom of a bag and tepid warm at best, onion rings well overdone but everything else was semi good tbh! So we held some hope on the full English for the morning.. the waitress takes our order and I asked for 1 of most things when it comes out I got 2 of everything but no matter, however the mushrooms were oily, tomato not cooked just warmed so was just mushy, eggs still translucent round the yolk, hash browns soggy and everything was stone cold, even the plate was chilled to the touch, safe to say I stuck with the continental and left everything still in tact..
Lastly was the beer.. we had a few (4) beers the night before and by no means am I a lightweight nor a functioning alcoholic, me and the same colleague I was with have done evenings where we have done nearly double that but woke up fine the following day but when I got to my room I was throwing up and felt absolutely dreadful, woke up at 430 am to again use the toilet and having a splitting headache, thinking it must have been the food to make me that ill, when my colleague comes to knock on in the morning the 1st question he asked was "what the hell was that beer I feel absolutely awful!" Turned out he had a bad night too with headache and stomach let's say problems that made him the king of the throne 80% of the night.. We had two different meals so ruled out food only thing we could nail it on was the drinks as we drank the same, if the pipes haven't been cleaned or still had chemicals in them I don't know but anyone would have thought we had drank our way through a brewery!
Luckily my company payed, there was a couple who complained a couple of tables over too, shambles of a place hopefully this gets read and I have saved a few people from a seriously...
Read moreIt was abysmal. We ordered 2 x rib eye steaks - medium - with correct money being taken at a relatively quiet time of day - just before midday & happy to wait. We usually had a good meal here so surprised at the fiasco which unfolded ......... Waitress asked why were we asking for no onion rings as it wasn't served with the steaks & showed her it was, but agreed on fried ones instead thinking maybe they didn't have them. Steaks arrive with sweet potato fries & covered in JD sauce - NOT what we ordered & to our palates, tasted gross - sweet steaks & potatoes - yuk. We questioned our meal & they were taken away to be changed without issue 'New' meal arrives with 'normal' chips & onion rings x one as requested. Cut into the steak - it was the same JD one with sauce scraped off!! So complained yet again Very mature waitress comes over & tells us the steaks were newly cooked as she had seen the original ones in the kitchen! We requested she try, but declined then.... Told 'We can't keep changing steaks like this so you can have your money back or choose something else' All we both wanted was a plain & simple rib-eye, cooked med. 1 x no onion rings & as we had paid for. Not sure what was difficult about the request? "I will have to ask the manager then" & returns to say they will cook our order as requested .... Rib-eyes finally arrive - both cooked with NO slight tinge of pink as for medium, but the accompaniments were ok. Having pointed out we only wanted what we ordered we ate our meal without further comment. We thought The Malta Inn was bad but Bobbing you seem to be heading the same way. Is it so hard to listen & take an order properly. What should have been an enjoyable meal turned into a farce + it has cost you steaks as not as requested - not very cost rffective in product: time &...
Read moreDONT EAT HERE!!! Visited during the Christmas period after my parents stayed at nearby hotel. Greeted and shown to our table. Our order was taken and we waited a short while for our food to be cooked and delivered to our table. This is where the problem started. The member of staff carrying 3 plates (she wore a red lanyard) spilt 2 plates full of food all down my mum's coat and down the back of her and my dad's chair. She was apologetic but we then had to wait for the breakfast to be recooked. My mum went to clean her own coat covered in greasy food as there was no help offered from the waitress who was more concerned cleaning rather than check customers are ok. We were a table of 4 so we all ate our breakfast at different times and what we thought was going to be an early relaxed breakfast before my parents made their long journey home to Somerset, which should have taken 3-4 hours, actually took them 7 hours as after the spillage at breakfast delayed their departure to 1030. My mum had to ask the waitress to wipe her coat with detergent. Overall it was an awful experience. I have worked in other hospitality establishments where we would have offered some compensation for the inconvenience caused. Here we were offered nothing other than an apology. I emailed the company only to be told we should have raised concern at the time, even though we had spoke to staff on day when there. The response on email is unsatisfactory and if the management don't care about customer satisfaction, you can see why the workers don't have good customer care and service. Will not be returning and will next time visit an choose an establishment that has good customer service with delicious fresh food. Definitely DO NOT go here. I DON'T RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU WANT CHEAP, WARMISH FOOD WITH NO CUSTOMER...
