My husband and I have been several times but this time was just awful. There are plenty of other places to eat in Bingley. There was skeleton staff on. Despite me telephoning that I am in a wheelchair we had to wait for staff to come and take away a chair so that I could be seated at the table. I think this could've been done after my phone call and to me, it should've been done before we arrived. The place was extremely quiet with barely any diners in. It was not explained to us how the ordering system worked, that once we had chosen what we wanted we had to go up to the bar and order. Neither was it explained why there was no carvery available. The meals are not made from scratch but ordered in frozen. I found this out as I have have an unusual allergy and it had to be read from the ingredients on the frozen packet. Getting to the food, we had a sharing platter, looked fabulous on menu but in reality it was really overcooked. The breaded mushrooms made a large cracking sound when you tried to pick up with a fork. My husbands mushroom flew off the table. The whole starter was completely overcooked. I mentioned to a member of a staff and I don't know if she didn't hear me but she just shrugged her shoulders. We asked if the overcooked meal could be put in a take home bag or box so that we could take overcooked food home for dogs. There wasn't either available so we had it wrapped in clingfilm. I then had a flatbread with sweet potato fries. The flatbread was very hard round the edges and inedible. The sweet potatoe fries looked overcooked but were soft in the middle and tasteless. I left mine. Husband had mixed grill with steak to be cooked rare, it was well done. His fries were tasteless and were left behind. The sausages we wrapped up for our dogs. As we were still hungry we ordered profiteroles to share. There were six in the dish and the choux pastry was not like a normal choux. It did not have any layers and was tasteless. I am a dessert kind of woman but I gave mine to my husband who ate them, as he was hungry. I would say that this was the worst meal out we have ever had. Also, when i went to the bar to order another drink and i had to go loiking for a member of staff. We will not be returning. To be honest, I would not recommend The...
Read moreWe came tonight and honestly itâll be the last time we go. Was told about the wait of 45 mins which we didnât mind as two of us work in restaurants and understand fully what we wasnât happy about was the very little food they did have again working in a restaurant we understand that there is supplier issues but being handed a sheet that states that some food is limited then trying to order said food to be told itâs now not available isnât great. Having to go to the bar and order your food and drinks again isnât great customer service. Being a fussy eater I ordered the chicken âstripsâ because thatâs what they are but I received them and they were burnt, the bbq dip had a layer/film on the top of them indicating theyâd been sat for some time under a hot light or hot hold, still the waitress brought them out and worse the âchefâ allowed them to be sent out. The burger a friend ordered was missing coleslaw and other bits. We also waited much more than 45 mins as I know we ordered at 19:19 and didnât receive any food until one and a half hours later which is ridiculous to say the least, it wasnât busy. After asking for my chicken to be replaced as it was inedible we waited a further 30 something mins and still no sign of the replacement which at this point the other three members had eaten their meals we decided to ask for a refund for the chicken and left. No one came over to inform us why we were waiting longer than the 45 mins or how long we would be waiting after that point. The manager seemed unbothered and didnât apologies. We could over hear another table complaining about the wait and again the manager just gave reasons like covid being the problem at hand yet the kitchen was full of chefs, the bar full of waiters and not that many customers so Iâm really at a loss of why covid was to blame especially when seeing the other reviews. This is the second time weâve had poor service, burnt food and limited menu choice as we came for a celebration before Christmas and again we left unhappy but thought we would book a table tonight to give the place a second chance as it could have been a one off but I can see now that it wasnât and...
