I cannot believe I didn’t know about this Café/Bistro before today! It really is truly a little hidden gem. It is located just off High Mill Lane in Addingham and sits within a caravan park.
The Café/Bistro itself is located inside a very smartly executed, pleasing to the eye “Ski Chalet Style” Log Cabin overlooking the River Wharfe. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful and I can imagine in the Summer months the views from the balcony are truly spectacular.
The menu isn’t vast, but all the dishes are carefully prepared, using good quality ingredients and are a feast for the eye. We chose the Asian Style Duck Salad which came beautifully presented and was packed with flavour. The Turkey and Stuffing Sandwich was served in fresh sourdough bread accompanied with dressed salad and fries. The desserts were equally lovely, the cinnamon Brule was the perfect consistency served with just enough berry compote and accompanied with crisp, freshly homemade shortbread. The Scone was served warm with top quality jam supplied by Tiptree and lashings of clotted cream. The tea was by Taylors of Harrogate which had “real” flavour and taste and not the usual watered-down infusion that some cafes serve.
I found the staff to be polite, attentive and personable and once your order had been taken the food arrived hot and fresh in double quick time.
The toilets, which sadly often get over looked were kept spotless and clean and I thought a lovely touch was to supply hand wash and hand cream which was provided by The White Company.
Overall, I could not fault this establishment and I shall certainly look forward to returning...
Read moreMixed reviews really . Took my parents for cake and coffee last week and was a nice experience until we got up to leave. My dad caught his leg on a rusty sharp spot on his chair . We did tell the girls who were serving but they were very young and didn't really know what to do. We then spoke to whom we assume was the manager on site who to be fair didn't really seem to be too bothered . Now we didn't really expect anything but I must say a coffee could have at least been offered as an apology if not a offer to pay for my dad's trousers. Now we would never have put a review on but the chair didn't get removed and we didn't even get a reply to the email we sent when we got home or a call that the manager said we would get from the owner. I must say a small business like this should care a little more about its customers and at least have the decency to reply to a what I thought was a very...
Read moreWhen we visited this bistro in April, it was not open for evening meals, so we went for lunch instead. It overlooks the River Wharfe, so the outside tables will be to die for in the summer months. There was a friendly greeting on our arrival, in fact all the staff were very friendly and pleasant. The service was spot on and we did not have to wait long for our meal. It was beautifully presented as were all of the dishes which we noticed going to other tables. There is a footpath going in both directions alongside the river which make this an ideal place for going for a morning stroll through some beautiful countryside before enjoying some top class sustenance. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and the service. All in all, it was a first class dining experience. Shall we be returning? We...
