Idle Lounge Coffee House — Restaurant in Bradford

If I could give zero stars for this shocking place I would. My mum had booked a table on Thursday for afternoon tea for me and her on Saturday (baring in mind I haven’t seen my mum for over a year); when we arrived, they had a booking in their book but this where the incompetence starts. They had the booking under Laura rather than my mums actual name. Anyway they seated us at our table and half an hour of waiting my mum asked a rude waitress what was happening and she advised in a rude tone that she would check. We were then greeted by a manager stating that they didn’t even have us done for a booking so my mum explained yet again that it was booked under Laura and the manager stated that we weren’t booked in for afternoon tea at all. Firstly when we first arrived and told them the time we had booked in for and what we had booked in for, why didn’t they advise any of this in the first instance. Secondly there was no remorse or decent customer service as to their error. Thirdly the staff was insanely rude and not very friendly. Food was good as usual but don't think I will be back for quite a while because did not feel covid19 safe. Sat in the room which was the original cafe but the large table of older ladies sat in there did not follow rules, no masks when going to counter, started with 2 of them but more people kept joining them which was obviously from different households because asking each other how they were coping with social distance. A staff member came over and thought she was going to tell them they could not sit together but no she joined them for a while and hugged them, think they were regulars so maybe exempt from covid rules. Not very happy. Booked afternoon tea for my daughter's birthday. Asked on the same day to add two more people. They could not accommodate. Was told I could order off the menu instead. To be honest the afternoon tea wasn't value for money. It cost £30 for 2 of us.
