1 star too many. Absolutely disgraceful customer experience and food that was cold, soggy and oily when it was requested to be fresh from the fryer. I was lied to and a customer who was watching verified that too. They didn't wanted to be mentioned at the time. The customer service apart from the young lady who served us initially was polite all the way through but the other one with the head scarf and the man flying were liars. I rightfully requested a refund as I was not satisfied with the food but was told they don't do refunds (within my consumer rights). I usually spend lots of money here and the Leeds Rd branch on regular basis. I was also told they use hand gel to clean their hands. The food was a waste of money as it wasn't worth consuming and so was my time. The worst of it however much the branch on Ingleby Rd deny it is being blatantly lied to. Food handling at this branch needs seriously reviewing by management especially during the covid 19 pandemic. Staff member back chatted to me as I walk away unhappy and disappointed with my experience. If the food was fresh out of the fryer it would be piping hot. Read moreQuite possibly the worst customer experience I've had. Having enjoyed fish and chips from here on a number of occasions I decided to call by after work today at 5pm. I was promptly served with a request for my order which I placed and paid for. I was given a receipt with my order number on of 148. Whilst waiting other people were being served as well to whom all where being given receipts. Then the service just goes downhill. I was kept waiting for over 25 minutes whilst other people were randomly being handed out there orders. When I heard number 155 being served I approached the desk and asked where my order was to which the cashier just rolled her eyes and said wait it'll be here soon 😣 Then after more waiting and noticing people being served after me leaving with their orders my order was placed on the counter incomplete! After making the cashier aware of this politely I was told to pick up the various sauces myself and that was that. I have never left a bad review regarding the chips as it seems they have an issue with the chips so I haven’t bothered.
Im leaving this review as I went in to order 2 kids fish bites and chips, mushy peas and 2 drinks on 02/06, but was charged 21.50 which I thought was a lot for 2 kids meals. The maths wasn’t math-ing so I questioned it and she showed me the bill, I had been charged more than the advertised/listed prices on the menu.
She said at this point that the prices have changed and the menu on the large screen is old. No apology- terrible customer service. I explained to her that it’s very misleading and they should at the least explain to customers that these prices have all been updated. I also said that they could get in trouble with trading standards for misleading prices, which she didn’t seem concerned by.
