Raja's Original — Restaurant in Bradford

I try and give fair and honest reviews wherever I go and I will list the good points here, the takeaway itself has nice decor and is fairly clean, the staff member was polite and let me take as many sauces and napkins I wanted. (Not all places let you have sauces), I like the mint and chilli however chilli is a bit runny (sweet chilli sauce not hot). However the bad points outweigh the good. I was trying to order some food and get some offers but he was trying to over charge me, but he said they've only recently took over so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Ordered the family bucket, the chicken pieces are really small honestly ordered at other places and had 2 pieces it filled me up more than 4 pieces I had there! Chicken was not that flavourful and the wings were abysmal. Such tiny pieces and lacked flavour. The chips were overfried, the chicken fillet was not nice and felt disgusting. I saw him packing the food and using his phone and not washing his hands after, it's disgusting. I am writing this review around 16 hours and 2 trips to the toilet later. Words cannot fathom how disappointed I was with my recent order.

I have been a regular customer of Raja’s for a number of of years. This rajas was previously good giving good quality food and portion sizes. However having ordered here after months it felt like they were cutting corners and intentionally giving inadequate portions and quality food to save on money.

The donner in pita I ordered was a large portion however I got what seemed to be the regular when I questioned the staff they replied this is the big portion the pita is the same size as a regular with extra donner. They said the regular has even less donner in it looking at the attached picture you can tell it was far from a large, the staff member also indirectly hinted this was a surprise to him. Also the chicken strips I ordered was a sliced up fillet. The rest of the food was standard just frozen nuggets, however the spicy burger I ordered was a regular fillet covered in chilly oil and grilled to reheat causing it to taste burnt.

I won’t be going here again I strongly advise others to also not go until they re-evaluate...

If only I could add a minus in front of the Star rating. Really do not like criticising peoples businesses but this place has left me no choice. In fact it felt like it's encouraging people to do so. I went to place an order and the Kurdish guy at the counter decided it would be best for me to wait whilst he goes through his phone. I asked him "you must be busy" sarcastically and he agreed, then a few minutes later he realised I came to place an order 🤔 When I went to place the order, and pay for it by card as most establishments would accept plastic when he says cash only and directed me to a cashpoint up the road in Morrisons. Which i didnt have a problem with until he said the order has been cancelled for now till you pay for it on your return with cash. I wasn't exactly expecting to take food away and paying for it later, all I wanted to do was save time by placing the order and coming back to collect I'd been to the cashpoint. Ridiculously run by idiots who have no concept of customer service. Stay away people, there are plenty of other places where they know how to...
