The Kitchen - Bradford — Restaurant in Bradford

Usually I appreciate Stacey’s kitchen as the food is normally good and the staff okay.

However, today I’ve had a bad experience and wanted to share. On their website it states that they’re open until 12:30PM on a Sunday.

When I called up at 11:45AM Sunday (today) to place a hot food order for just 2 sausage sandwiches I was told “sorry we’re not taking anymore orders today as we’re too busy….

Really annoyed at that response, with 45 minutes left of opening time and to be told that I cannot order because they are busy. I would usually understand if I rang up 5 minute to close at 12:25PM that would have been understandable.

But to be told 45 minutes nearly an hour before they shut that I cannot order 2 sandwiches because they’re “busy” for a business to say that they cannot take orders because they’re busy (such a small order as well, not like I wanted 4 full breakfasts) is a disgrace.

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat and have nice food, well I wouldn’t try going here if they’re within a hour of closing, you’ll just be disappointed, and if you’re reading this Stacey’s then I suggest you share this information on your Facebook page that you stop orders when busy.

EDIT: this wasn’t a very nice or professional response to a complaint, you have a serious attitude for a business owner, disappointing to see.

Just to clarify as well, I wasn’t asking for my order to be cooked first as you stated, I’m just disappointed they were unable to even take it.

Also note, that I drove past 10 minutes after I tried calling and I didn’t see anyone stood inside or outside like they usually are when they’re busy, seems like the staff are just bothered about getting home on time and giving rude responses...

I called this café on the 2nd of June 2023. I have never ordered from here before and I will say the sandwiches are extremely nice indeed. The sandwiches are quite pricey and I think this is what lets it down a little bit, however, the quality of the food is very good indeed and it comes nicely wrapped in tinfoil and arrives hot. My one big criticism is that you should get a lot more product for the money. I asked for black pudding with mine and there was not much black pudding in it at all which was a big shame. However, as a treat I would definitely order from here again, but I do think they need to have a lot more produce within the sandwiches if they’re going to keep the charges of £4 plus. I will definitely give this a try. It’s very nice food indeed just be prepared for it to be a little more pricey than most cafés within the area. Also because I live less than 1 mile within the radius of the business, I definitely feel that should not have been a £4 charge When you ring Direct to the café. I didn’t order from JustEat for this very reason that I didn’t want to pay £4 for the delivery. Also the delivery charge was not advised when you called which is a big shame. After calling the café again to query the delivery charge, all I was told is that they can charge what they like for delivery. The then supposed manager put the phone down on the side and continue to slag me off with her colleagues of which I could hear. If you want excellent customer service and friendly staff, and unfortunately this place will not be for you. They’re extremely rude regarding their customers. This is a very big shame indeed, and it does let it down, hence why I have amended this...

I had to call to Bradford from Newcastle to settle some business and was starving so this was recommended to me. A chap took me there and I had a full English with all the trimmings and it was absolutley amazing. There was plenty of grub on the plate and was cooked to perfection as well. I also like to say the staff were lovely too and took an interest in where I was from and what brought me all the way to Bradford. They all wished me best of luck and a safe journey home. On a side note everyone I met that day was really nice kind caring people so it was a lovely place to be. I highly recommend this cafe it's BRILLIANT ! Thanks so much...
