Wow! What a great little cafe. A lovely family friendly space which has even thoughtfully included a kids corner with toys, books and a teepee! My kids had a great time and we've been back several times. The staff are welcoming and kind and can't do too much for you.
I've seen a couple of reviews saying it was expensive but with toast for £1.50 and cakes for £1.75 I'm not sure you could get much cheaper. Unlike a lot of places they even thoughtfully have a "help yourself" water jug so I can get drinks for my kids without having to worry about paying loads for drinks.
The brunch we had was delicious and I'll definitely be back for the veggie breakfast and paninis another time.
It's lovely inside and has been tastefully decorated and it's also been great to sit outside with the dog and enjoy the beautiful views of the park.
I love the ethos of the cafe with profits going back into the community rather than into some rich businessman's pocket and loads of their products are locally sourced!
A great addition to our Bowling community! Thanks to all involved we will...
Read moreI met friends for brunch. I love the Lodge café but this was the first time I've visited since the new owners took over.
I was welcomed warmly and had a lovely little chat, they made a suggestion as to which coffee I should have.
The menu is right up my street, I love Mediterranean food, I chose the Turkish eggs which were heaven on a plate. Cooked to perfection. My friends both had shakshuka, which they said was delicious.
We lingered over several hot drinks and a delectable cardamom pastry.
The service was impeccable.
The Lodge was busy, probably with it being half term, lots of families.
I am thrilled to report that the Lodge is every bit as nice as it was under the previous owners.
Butter and bloom have put their own stamp on it but the decor remains tasteful and homely.
I LOVE the new menu and the standard of cooking was exceptional.
The café is still dog friendly.
I love that East Bowling has this place for people to gather, both locals and folk from further afield.
All the best to Pakeezah and your team. I look forward to many...
Read more10 stars.... 20 stars, absolutely top notch in every way. Well, what a lovely little café, I came out glowing with a big beam on my face it was that good. The staff are brilliant, a really cohesive, efficient, warm, welcoming team, and they were all young uns too. Exemplary staff. Service with multiple smiles. The young blonde haired lass with a ponytail was really lovely, über helpful, kind face and kind person. Reasonably priced menu with lots of choice for vegetarians. Food beautifully presented and really tasty. Milk alternatives available. Loo downstairs, which has one of those "high rise" (ha) seats, which help when your legs n joints start going crook on you! They're not in that many places, but when they are, they are much appreciated. Plenty of outdoor seating. Nourishing homemade soup was wonderful and the bread was super yum. I can also recommend the balsamic mushrooms and shallots on toast - Yum Take II. Café closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. 100% highly recommended. Deffo revisiting. Marvelous! What a...
